The funeral service of media personality Akhumzi Jezile is currently underway at the Rhemba Bible Church in Johannesburg. The 29-year-old actor and former YoTV presenter died in a car crash on the N6 near Queenstown, or Komani while travelling to the Eastern Cape last weekend. Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch has joined those calling on the Zimbabwean government to reopen the internet. Service provider, Econet, confirmed yesterday that they cut Internet connectivity after it received a warrant from the Minister of State in the Presidency. They were linked to the kidnapping of six young girls in the late 80’s after a seventh girl was kidnapped and taken to Van Rooyen house, but managed to escape. Now Haarhoff’s daughter, Amor van der Westhuyzen reveals in a book on her life how she found out that her mother was involved in the kidnapping of children. “She said to me that they are in trouble and I asked her, “What do you mean you are in trouble?” and she said to me that she and Gert van Rooyen tried to kidnap a policeman’s child for money,” says van der Westhuyzen.
