Freeport McMoran Exploited Mineral Resources in West Papua
Henry Kissinger who have the invest in Freeport McMoran as US Foreign Minister play his role to support Indonesia occupied West Papua so Freeport McMoran could enter to West Papua. After Freeport McMoran sent Geologist Forbes Wilson in 1959 to signed Agreement for Exploration with Dutch Borneo Company, the him went to explored in 1960 and the lost of Michael Rockefeller in West Papua so US Ambassador to Indonesia Mr. Jones waited John. F. Kennedy inauguration in 21 January 1961 then sent him telegram 26 January 1961 to push US President John. F. Kennedy asked Dutch to transferred the Administration of West Papua to Indonesia, although West Papua has been setup as Non Self Governing Territory through UNGA Resolution A/RES/448 (V) to granted Independent according to UN Charter Article 73 and UNGA Resolution A/RES/1514 (XV). U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, Howard P. Jones, waited only days after the inauguration of President Kennedy to submit a broad seven-point plan to prevent Indonesia from falling under Communist control and to win it over to the west. Key points in his plan were the resolution of the West New Guinea (WNG) question whereby Indonesia received a promise that the territory would be reunited with Indonesia. Equally important was the creation of a personal relationship between Presidents Kennedy and Sukarno. (White House Doc. List. No: 143)
Mineral Ban Takes Effect In Indonesia
Indonesia has pushed through a hotly-contested ban on raw minerals exports after making last-minute concessions for the country's two biggest miners. US mining giants Freeport-McMoRan and Newmont will temporarily be exempt from the ban, which took effect on Sunday. The ban is aimed at boosting local mineral processing to keep a greater share of mining profits in Indonesia. But critics have claimed it will lead to mass-layoffs and worsen the country's widening trade deficit. However, Jero Wacik, Indonesia's energy and mineral resources minister, said the rules were aimed at enhancing the value of Indonesia's mining industry. "We want to avoid mass layoffs," Mr Wacik said. "We also want to keep companies that are already or planning to process ore to continue their operations." Mining revenues Government ministers had met for 11th-hour meetings on Sunday, before handing the watered-down legislation - first introduced in 2009 - to Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for signing. The decision to give concessions is aimed at easing disruptions to the country's mining industry, following strong opposition to the initial proposal. The government hopes the ban on export of raw minerals will boost local processing and attract investment for the refining and output of higher-value metal products. However, economists have said that the rule could have a harmful effect on the economy by wiping out billions of dollars in export revenue. The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has warned as many as 800,000 jobs might be at risk from the mineral ban. Indonesia is one of the world's biggest producers of copper, nickel and aluminium. Metal prices, nickel in particular, rose sharply on Monday on speculation the ban may cause a supply squeeze. Shares of some Australian mining companies also rallied as investors bet that they would benefit from increased production demand following the ban.

Game Utopia : Mineral Resources on Beia
Game Utopia : Mineral Resources on Beia In addition to cutting trees, mining is also one of the must-have skills for you to survive in Beia. It is not only about your beautiful big house, it’s also a great way for green hands to get rich. So how to mine on Beia? What are the classifications of minerals? Let's take a look at the mineral resources distribution guide below! First of all, you need a pick. Well, wood pick is the easy to get, but it’s damage is very low, just 10 points of damages to the stone. So as the saying goes, to do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools. To mine ore, you need a good ore pick. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. SOUNDBITE: (Indonesian) Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Indonesian minister of Energy and Mineral Resources: "The retail price for gasoline and diesel oil for small businesses, fisheries, transportation and public services inclusive of income tax per litre will be as follows - gasoline sale price per litre - 6000 Rupiah and diesel oil 5500 Rupiah." 13. Cutaway of media 14. Wide of news conference ending STORYLINE: Indonesia raised prices at the pump by nearly 30 percent late on Friday because of the surging cost of oil and gas on the global market, the government said, triggering small but rowdy protests. Dozens of students clashed with police in Jakarta following the announcement, while students elsewhere in the capital burned tyres and wood, according to local radio reports. There were no immediate reports of casualties or arrests. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono warned earlier this month that budget-busting subsidies, which have for years enabled motorists to fill up for roughly 1.80 US dollars a gallon, would have to be drastically slashed. Most people realise he had little choice, but that has not stopped thousands of students from taking to the streets in near-daily rallies this week, saying the poor would be hit the hardest. Speaking at a news conference on Friday, the Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said gas prices were being boosted 33 percent to 2.40 US dollars a gallon. Diesel oil jumped 27 percent to 2.204 US dollars a gallon. And kerosene, used primarily for cooking, 25 percent to 1.00 US dollar. "The increase of global crude oil prices has resulted in the much bigger needs for certain fuel to be subsidised and this has burdened our state budget," he said. "That is why we need to adjust the fuel sale prices," he added. This is the third time Yudhoyono has raised fuel prices since he was elected president in 2004, defying protests and winning praise from international donors. To cushion the blow, the government has provided direct cash payments to the poor - a policy it said on Friday it would repeat. Huge deposits of rare earth elements found near Japanese island
일본 EEZ 해저 발견 희토류 매장량, 세계 수요 수백년분 Countries around the world are heavily dependent on China for rare earth minerals... that are used in various high-tech products. But all that may change.. as Japan reportedly found hundreds of years' worth of these rare elements in its waters. Hong Yoo explains further. Japanese researchers have found more than 16 million tons of rare earth deposits …under the seabed near the island of Minami-Torishima, …some 18-hundred kilometers from the country's mainland. Rare earths include dozens of minerals used in high-tech products, from smart phones to electric vehicles. According to the study released on Tuesday in the journal Scientific Reports, the researchers collected samples of the elements in 25 locations on the seabed …across a 25-hundred square-kilometer area. The analysis found 730 years' worth of dysprosium, used for the magnets in hybrid cars, and 780 years' worth of yttrium, used in the manufacture of lasers, based on estimated demand. The discovery of the deposits could help ease the world's dependence on China, …which accounts for nearly 90 percent of all rare earths production. Beijing's dominant position has resulted in price spikes and shortages in the past. The researchers say they have also come up with the technology to allow the resources to be extracted efficiently. The method can boost the density of rare earth minerals to 20 times that of the deposits in mainland China. The researchers plan to work with private companies to recover the rare earth minerals.
