Let’s talk about investing in Apple Stock In 2018. Is Apple stock a buy? We’ll go over what you need to know before investing In Apple. So first why even consider investing in Apple? Warren Buffett has bought more shares of Apple than any other company in recent times. If you have the greatest investor of all time buying a lot of these shares, some might say, you might want to look at it. * Apple’s Fundamentals* • Price: $162.32 • EPS: $9.70 • P/E Ratio: 16.73 • Dividend Yield: 1.44% • Market Cap: $823.613 billion. *Positives of Investing In Apple* So in the video I talk about the positives of investing in Apple. The main one being it’s competitive advantage. Apple has a fantastic brand reputation, integrated business model and lock in business strategy. This ensures customers keep coming back to buy Apple’s products. *Negatives of Investing In Apple* • Potential decrease in I-phone Sales. • Increased competition that are getting bigger. Do your own in-depth research before investing. Buy a stock based off your own decision not based off any ‘advice’ from friends, relatives or even YOUTUBERS. YouTube videos can help you learn more about a stock, but their opinion should not be the sole reason you buy. Today Apple is the most profitable company in the world and it very recently became the first trillion-dollar publicly-traded company in America. And yet just two decades ago Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy; surprisingly, it wasn't Steve Jobs that saved them, but their biggest rival at the time: Microsoft. Throughout the 1990s Microsoft was expanding aggressively, achieving a staggering 90% market share in the personal computer market. Apple, meanwhile, was in rapid decline: developers were making fewer and fewer applications for the Macintosh, while Apple's license for Microsoft Office was expiring. Things were looking grim, until at Apple's yearly conference, Steve Jobs made a very surprising announcement. Steve Jobs announced Microsoft would be one of Apple's key strategic partners. Microsoft would invest $150 million into Apple in exchange for non-voting shares and in exchange would license Microsoft Office to Apple for another 5 years. The audience reaction was mixed, but ultimately this proved to be the saving grace for Apple. Without this capital infusion from Microsoft, Apple would've gone bankrupt in less than 90 days. So why did Bill Gates do it? Why did he save Apple? In truth, he wasn't doing it out of the kindness of his heart. Instead, he noticed the looming threat of anti-trust regulations. He knew the Department of Justice was getting ready to break up Microsoft on monopoly grounds, so he did his best to prop-up his competition. Essentially, he saved Apple to save Microsoft. When the anti-trust threat had been resolved in 2001, Bill Gates sold his stake in Apple and moved on. Of course, as we now know today, Apple eclipsed Microsoft (and every other tech company) and Bill Gates' original $150 million stake would've been worth over $50 billion today. He missed out on quite some gains! Under the kind patronage of Nagabhushanam Peddi, Dan Supernault, Samuel Patterson, James Gallagher & Brett Gmoser.

CNBC's Scott Wapner sits down with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, to discuss Tesla, Apple's performance in the market and what the future could hold for Apple. Apple shares tanked earlier after Lumentum Holdings, which makes technology for the iPhone's face-recognition function, cut its outlook for fiscal second quarter 2019. Lumentum CEO Alan Lowe said one of its largest customers asked the company to "materially reduce shipments" for its products. Shares of Lumentum plunged 33 percent. The decline in Apple pressured the broader technology sector. The Technology Select Sector SPDR dropped 3.5 percent. Alphabet and Amazon shares pulled back 2.7 percent and 4.3 percent, respectively. Amazon shares fell into bear-market territory, down about 20 percent from its 52-week high. Apple's decline and worries over trade overshadowed two large corporate deals. » Subscribe to CNBC: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBC About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. Let’s talk about investing in Coca Cola the company and whether Coca Cola stock is a buy in 2018. Coca Cola is one of the most well-known brands in the world. Up there with Apple and Nike. But let’s delve into Coca Cola the stock and whether it’s a good place to invest our money in 2018. *About Coca-Cola* • They own 500 different brands. • Sell over 3,500 different beverages • They own 4 out of the top 5 soft drinks in the world. • Basically, a gigantic beverage company. *How Coca-Cola Make Money* • Through sales of their finished product = 60% of their revenue. • Through sale of soda syrup = 40% of their revenue. *Coca-Cola Fundamentals* • Price = $44.53 • EPS = $0.29 • P/E Ratio = 152.50 • Dividends = $1.56 • P/BV = 11.14 (higher than the industry P/BV) • Industry P/BV = 8.65 • Earnings decreased from $7.35 billion in 2015 to $1.25 billion in 2017. And yes I know that the 4th quarter earnings results are an anomaly but even then I’m not impressed with coca cola’s figures. *My Opinion* • Coca Cola shares are way overpriced. I don’t see why a company is priced so high when their earnings and revenue are decreasing. It’s not even close to a growing company. I guess people just see the brand Coca Cola and think it’s a good investment without going into the fundamentals and other features of the stock. John Sculley, the former CEO of Apple (AAPL) and Pepsi (PEP), is now investing in several potential game-changing private companies that he expects could go public or be acquired by public companies. Sculley recently wrote the book ‘Moonshot!’ which examines strategies that executives can use to build transformative businesses. One of Sculley’s investments is in Zeta Interactive, a firm he co-founded with his friend David Steinberg. Sculley said Zeta Interactive is one of the largest big data marketing analytic companies in the world. ‘We grew about 100% top line, we’re very profitable, and we’re well-positioned to go public probably in 2016,’ he said. Another company Sculley is involved with is MDLIVE, a telehealth firm that connects patients with doctors via a phone or Internet video around the clock for nonemergency situations. ‘This is a company that I think has the potential to become a unicorn, meaning more than a billion dollar valuation, ‘ Sculley explained. He added that MDLIVE has a close partnership with Walgreens (WAG), and has also partnered with over 800 hospitals to provide telehealth services. Sculley is also chairman of a company in Florida called PDQ, a casual dining chain that was founded by the founders of Outback Steakhouse (BLMN). Sculley said PDQ will be a public company someday. ‘We’re just having incredible success with very nutritious foods, no red meats, remember these are the Outback Steakhouse guys, now it’s all chicken. Everything is fresh, every day,’ he said. In this video I wanted to take a closer look at Apple as the share price has been declining recently. In my opinion Apple is a wonderful company that will be around for many many years, but the stock price has become bearish lately and I think a lot of investors need to think twice before selling if they are current shareholders. At the same time, investors who are interested in apple should take a close look at this time because this could be a great opportunity to buy shares before the price continues to go upward as the earnings and revenues have done for decades. When looking for potential investments, I always look at what the company does and how healthy it is as a business. I tried to ignore a lot of the noise that comes up in the wider market and look for opportunities to buy undervalued companies that have promising futures for the long term. Nobody knows how the economy or the market will perform, so as long as you invest in good quality companies your portfolio should do just fine. None of this should be taken as financial advice and I am not licensed to give any. This video is just for information and you should always do your own research.

It looks like Apple CEO Tim Cook has finally found his wallet, and just in time for the holidays. Following the not wholly unexpected $400 million acquisition of music-identification app Shazam on Monday, Apple has now dipped into its billion-dollar Advanced Manufacturing Fund and infused specialized chipmaker Finisar with a $390 million investment. Finisar makes specialized chips needed for Apple’s Face ID system, the animoji feature and the portrait tech used in the dual camera setup. So, it's important tech for Apple going forward. The chiptech Finisar makes is known as “vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers,” and they’re located in Sherman, Texas, just north of Dallas. CNET says the windfall will re-open a plant that was shuttered in 2012 and will bring 500 jobs to the city. To be clear, Apple isn’t buying the company, just heavily investing in it. Apple made a similar investment into Corning, which makes the Gorilla glass used in every Apple portable device. And for some perspective, if Apple’s $250+ billion dollar cash reserves were just 250 dollars, the investment into Finisar would come to 39 cents. OK Tim, by that measure, Sony is just $55 and Tesla is $57. You should buy yourself both of them for Christmas. Apple announced an investment into better glass displays for the future. According to an announcement from the tech giant, $200 million from the company's Advanced Manufacturing Fund is being granted to Corning. Those funds will go towards researching and developing the a better glass manufacturing process. Corning is the supplier of the Gorilla Glass display used on the iPhone. But the infusion of funds is part of a larger initiative by Apple, that has committed at least $1 billion towards US companies fostering production and job growth. Corning is only the first recipient. https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-invests-in-better-glass-displays-for-future-iphones/#ftag=CAD590a51e http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Business using http://wochit.com

Do you remember the first time you wrote a check for $100? What about your first $1,000 check? I bet you weren't wondering how to invest $1,000 dollars then, were you? Even better, your first $10,000 check? The first time I wrote a check for $10,000 was to pay off my student loan debt. That was, by far, the best check I ever wrote! For me the choice was clear, but where to put an extra $10,000 isn't always an easy decision. I'm here to help! Here are 9 great ideas on how to smartly invest $10,000. ▶︎1. Stock Market (5:26) If you want to put your money into a virtual autopilot situation, a robo-advisor may be exactly what you’re looking for. What is a robo-advisor? It’s an online investment management platform, often referred to as a robo advisor, because everything is handled automatically for you. ✅Open an Account at Betterment here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/betterment-youtube-invest-10k.php ▶︎2. Buying Individual Stocks (9:19) You can open an online discount brokerage account through companies like TD Ameritrade and Ally Financial. ✅TD Ameritrade https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/tdameritrade-youtube-invest-10k.php ✅Ally Financial https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/ally-youtube-invest-10k.php ▶︎3. Tax-free goodness - Roth IRA (11:42) You can only put $5,500 in for yourself, but you could also put in $5,500 for your spouse. Learn more about how to become a Roth IRA Millionaire here: https://youtu.be/Cy8EsjQyREo ▶︎4. Peer to Peer Lending (12:13) If you prefer fixed income investments to equities, peer-to-peer lending offers an opportunity to earn interest rates that are well above average. There are various peer-to-peer lending sites on the web already, the two I recommend are Lending Club and Prosper. Open an an account with Lending Club here: ✅https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/lendingclub-youtube-invest-10k.php Prosper here: ✅https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/prosper-youtube-invest-10k.php ▶︎5. Real Estate (14:14) Real estate is an excellent investment, no doubt about it. But $10,000 isn’t enough to make a down payment on the purchase of an investment property these days but that doesn’t mean that you can't invest in real estate. 🏡If you don't want to manage properties and still make money from real estate, check out Fundrise: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/fundrise-youtube-invest-10k.php ▶︎6. Annuity (20:55) You guys know I am not crazy about annuities 😆, but there are some instances where they are the better choice. If you are 5-10 years away from retirement, this may be the perfect opportunity for you to invest in some safe retirement opportunities. ▶︎7. Invest in a Business (23:15) This is yet another example of investing in yourself. By starting your own business, you put yourself in a position to take maximum advantage of your knowledge, skills and abilities. Thanks to the Internet, it’s very possible to start your own business with just a few thousand dollars. ▶︎8. Coaching Programs (26:46) When we think of investing, we generally think of putting money into assets with the hope of getting a return on the investment. Anything that you can do to improve your knowledge and skills – that will either enable you to live better, or to earn more money – is a true investment. One of the ways to do this is to put some of your money into coaching programs. ▶︎9. Cryptocurrency (30:14) Yes I finally did it- I invested some money in Bitcoin. Give a couple of these a try and see if they'll work for you! I'm Alex Villarreal with the VOA Special English Economics Report, from http://voaspecialenglish.com | http://facebook.com/voalearningenglish Changes are taking place in Silicon Valley in California. Larry Page will replace Eric Schmidt as chief executive at Google. And Apple's chief, Steve Jobs, is taking another medical leave. Two years ago Mr. Jobs received a new liver. In two thousand four he had pancreatic cancer. The latest announcement did not say how long he might be away or give a reason. Apple reported record-high earnings for the final three months of last year. But the health of Steve Jobs always brings questions about the future of the company. He helped start Apple Computer in nineteen seventy-six. Today the company that played a big part in the personal computing revolution just calls itself Apple. Its products include the iPod and iPhone and its latest success, the iPad tablet computer. Steve Jobs has long been Apple's public face. But some might forget that he left in nineteen eighty-five to form a computer company called NeXT. Manuel Perez-Quinones is a computer science professor at Virginia Tech. He says Apple has led the development of some technologies, but that explains only part of its success. For example, he says many development tools associated today with Apple came from NeXT.Apple bought NeXT in nineteen ninety-six. Mr. Jobs rejoined Apple and became the permanent CEO in two thousand. Last May, Apple passed Microsoft in market value and became the most valuable technology company in the world. Mr. Jobs says he will remain chief executive officer and stay involved in major decisions during his medical leave. But he put Tim Cook, his chief operating officer, in control of daily operations. As Steve Jobs steps back at Apple, Eric Schmidt is stepping down at Google. Mr. Schmidt plans to leave his CEO job in April after almost ten years. He will remain on Google's board of directors. Larry Page was Google's founding CEO when he launched the company with Sergey Brin in nineteen ninety-eight. But Mr. Schmidt has been the public face of Google while Mr. Page has mainly worked on new products. Today Google is the world leader in Internet search and has products like the Android operating system for mobile devices. But Google is seen as trying to recapture the creative energy and speed of its early days. For VOA Special English I'm Alex Villarreal. A little over nine weeks ago, on September 21, 2018, I argued that Apple and Amazon were over valued and followed through with the decision to sell short both stocks, Apple at $230 and Amazon at $1950. On November 30, 2018, those calls make me look prescient but in this session, I posit that any gains on the position are more attributable to luck than skill. I also use my experience to argue that two widely held precepts in value investing, i.e., that intrinsic value never changes and that a long time horizon is a prerequisite for value investing are at odds with value investing first principles and need reexamination. Josh Luber is a "sneakerhead," a collector of rare or limited sneakers. With their insatiable appetite for exclusive sneakers, these tastemakers drive marketing and create hype for the brands they love, specifically Nike, which absolutely dominates the multi-billion dollar secondary market for sneakers. Luber's company, Campless, collects data about this market and analyzes it for collectors and investors. In this talk, he takes us on a journey into this complicated, unregulated market and imagines how it could be a model for a stock market for commerce.

See all the Warren Buffett stocks in this playlist series - learn how to invest like Buffett. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrJ376bW_kQ&list=PLjsZ3KrTlZoxAJOxA1DJIftwGf6zuxGw6&index=2 Warren Buffett’s stock picking has made more than a few investors extremely wealthy so it’s no surprise that the 13-F Form showing the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio is big news. Investors pore over the report to find new Buffett stocks and long-term investments in great companies. Most of those stocks are normal targets for Buffett, mature companies with solid cash flows in insurance and banking. But the Oracle of Omaha has his biggest investment in a single company and it’s not in his traditional sectors. Warren Buffett has $45 billion in a technology company, a sector in which he’s rarely invested and has often says he doesn’t like the fact that innovation can make great companies obsolete so quickly. That big bet on tech is actually in a single company, that’s more than a fifth of the entire portfolio in just one stock. What is Warren Buffett investing in Apple and why did he recently invest more, even after the stock price jumped since his first investment? In this video, I look deep into Apple’s financial statements and fundamentals to see why it’s made it into the Warren Buffett portfolio. I’ll look at some of the Warren Buffett rules of investing to find what he sees in the stock and whether you should invest now or wait. We’re looking into the Warren Buffett portfolio in this five-part series. We’re looking at Buffett’s biggest investments, his favorite industries and even his worst investment.
