How to get started with a law firm marketing plan; all right, so first of all you have to identify what stage of growth your law firm is in. The first stage of growth is from revenues of zero to about $250,000. We call that creating a successful law practice. We're not worrying about a business, we're not worrying about it being sustainable, we're not worrying about you being able to step away for a month at a time and have it keep going, we just want it to be successful, get your head above water, get revenues to about $250,000 gross. Second stage is $250 to about $500,000, that's where you start to bring in staff, you start to bring in other people to do things to delegate things, you need processes and policies and systems and procedures. In looking around at what was working for other people (not in the legal industry) I noticed that they were doing some pretty ninja stuff to market and brand their firm (really more brand than market). I thought I'd share one of these strategies with you in case you wanted to implement it in your own Facebook law firm marketing plan. It's pretty straightforward, but the gist of it is this: we need to be using every piece of content in as many ways as possible - including spreading our voice to the world via Facebook. The process is simple: (1) you create a video; (2) you upload it to Facebook; (3) you boost it to your audience. Rinse and repeat. The second technique is to put high quality content and material that includes both written words and video on your website. 3. Never squander any money and resources on marketing that is not measurable. If you can't measure it, don't do it. 4. I also have a much higher open rate and a higher click-through rate than average. This means that people open and read my emails, and click on the links. And all those rates blow away any industry averages. The reason why it works is that I provide value in every one of my emails. Just think about what problems people in your market have and provide solutions to those problems. Every day, I create a short video, and then I write a short email. Why so many? I get only 20 to 30 percent of my emails opened, which is actually a pretty good percentage. I can see who opened my emails, and I notice that many people only open every third or fourth email. So if I were to send them just one email a week, they'd only read an email from me once a month. The way it works with the internet these days, you have to have thirty touch points or more before someone will do business with you. So I like to make those 30 touch points go much faster and provide value instead of trying to sell anything. And eventually, they buy from me. Some people reach out after 30 emails, but I've had someone who contacted me after 120 emails.
