You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space”. Truer words have never been spoken. In fact, the universe is so big that its size and scope is nearly incomprehensible, even to the most knowledgeable and open-minded individuals. With a diameter of more than 93 billion light-years, it’s not too surprising that so many extreme objects are lurking out there within it. And today we in “Smart is the new sexy” prepared a list of 10 interesting discoveries in space that will blow your mind and one bonus at the end. Ready? What is The Most Advanced Civilization In The Universe?

06:21
Subscribe! Because SMART IS THE NEW SEXY: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Hello, everyone! Welcome back to our channel. In today’s video Smart is the New Sexy will tell you which civilization is the most advanced in the universe. Hang onto your hats, because you’re about to learn how the performance of a civilization as a whole can be measured. What if we meet someone on Mars, or aliens would finally decide to visit our planet. How do we know who’s a real rock star of the universe? Well, there is quite interesting theory about that. In 1964, Russian astrophysicist Nicolai Kardashev came up with a special scale. It categorizes civilizations into their levels of advancement. According to Kardashev, the status of a civilization is the product of two things: energy and technology. It means, the better technology you have, the more energy you can exploit. The more energy you harness, the better technology you can create. The better technology is the more likely the civilization is ready to meet the another one. Conforming to Kardashev, there are 3 types of civilizations (01:02): planetary, stellar, and a galactic civilization. But during the last years his list was edited and expanded based on recent developments in nanotechnology, biotechnology, and quantum physics. Although it is impossible to predict the precise features of such advanced civilizations, their broad outlines can be analyzed using the laws of physics. So, today we know about 7 types of advanced cosmic civilizations. May be you wonder where our Earth is on this scale. Watch the full video and find the answer. 15 Recent Science Discoveries You Wont Believe

08:39
15 amazing recent discoveries in the world of science and here they are from bionic contact lenses to reanimating dinosaur dna! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 7. New Human Species Biologists all over the world were intrigued upon hearing the 2015 discovery of a new species of human, Homo Naledi, allowing for an ever clearer picture of our ancient ancestry. The findings were unveiled deep in an underground cave in South Africa and is considered one of the greatest collection of human remains ever unearthed. So far, it is known that this species of human grew to an average height of 5 feet and had a brain no larger than an orange. The way the bones in the South African cave were arranged suggests that these human ancestors ritualistically buried their dead, giving scientists a glimpse into our cultural past. 6. Bionic Lens While still in the testing stage, the founder of Ocumetics Technology Corp may have stumbled upon a revolutionary technology that could augment the way humans perceive the world. A new bionic contact lens will give wearers an ability to see the world with stronger than 20/20 vision. Some subjects, who have already tried the lens themselves, claim that they not only see better than ever before but have identified a unique spectrum of colors unfamiliar to the unaided eye. Is this perhaps the first step in the direction of a new era of superhumans? 5. Harder Than Diamond Scientists may have recently discovered a substance harder than diamond, Q-carbon. What gives diamonds their excellent hardness are the chemical bonds that hold them together. The carbon in diamonds is held together by incredibly tight chemical bonds at the microscopic level, giving diamonds their prominent hardness. By the manipulation of carbon atoms, scientists were able to augment their chemical bonds, producing a material that is potentially 60 times harder than diamond. While this substance is still being experimented on, it is a potential prospect for the future of cheap, efficient technologies. 4. First Mammals Researchers from the University of Edinburgh have discovered an ancient species of mammals that survived the notorious extinction of the dinosaurs over 65 million years ago. The reason this find is so significant is that it gives us a glimpse at how mammals began to rule the world previously dominated by their cold-blooded counterparts. The mammal is thought to have been a plant-eater closely resembling a modern beaver. Once the dinosaurs were eliminated these beaver-like creatures began to flourish, given that they were no longer victims of dinosaur predators. Because these little guys were able to withstand the destruction that wrecked havoc on the dinosaurs, an array of mammals, including our ancestors, were finally able to leave their mark on the world. 3. Whale Gene Mapping Gene mapping is starting to look less like a theoretical nicety and more like an applied science with this new aquatic discovery. Scientists have finally discovered why Bowhead Whales are able to live to 200 years old by remapping their entire genome. By comparing the genome of Bowhead Whales with the genome of other mammals with a less impressive lifespan, scientists were able to point out marked differences. Bowhead longevity is due to its genes’ effectiveness in repairing gene deterioration, which is the cause of cancer and other ailments known to cut human life short. By further studying this animal’s genes, scientists may finally be able to restore our own faulty genetic system, substantially lengthening our lives. 2. Second Earth NASA has recently confirmed their discovery of a possible second Earth. Kepler-452b orbits its sun in what scientists call the “Goldilocks Zone,” which is the habitable region in space, not too far or close to the sun, necessary for the possibility of life to flourish. The new planet appears to have a rocky surface as well as liquid water, which is another key ingredient for life to subsist. Although not much is known about if there is life beyond Earth, it makes sense to take notice of planets similar to our own. 1. Animal Re-animation Scientists have always been intrigued by the prospect of re-animating creatures that have been extinct for many years. While bringing a dinosaur back to life would be kind of cool, bringing a Wooly Mammoth back to life would be just as cool, and that is just what scientists are trying to do. Because Wooly Mammoths and Saber-Toothed Tigers have only been extinct for tens of thousands of years, unlike the millions of years dinosaurs have been extinct, intact DNA samples are much easier to find. Scientists believe it is possible to recreate these extinct beasts by cloning them with DNA and tissue samples, which have been found, over the years, preserved in ice.

Subscribe! Because SMART IS THE NEW SEXY: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel. In today’s video Smart is the New Sexy will be talking about the calendar of the most recent and upcoming cosmic events that most of us can witness in our lifetime. Are you curious to know when the planets align? Keep watching to find out. And...What we definitely should see is creation of new star visible by the naked eye in 2022. (01:54) A group of scientists based at Calvin College, Michigan have made the bold 1-in-a-million prediction for 2022. They believe that we will be able to witness the birth of a new Red Nova or ‘Boom’ star sometime in 2022 following the collision of the binary star KIC9832227. The two suns orbit each other every 11 hours or so. However, their orbit has been observed speeding up in a predictable way - leading to a dance of death with a predictable and explosive conclusion. The new star would be the brightest in the night sky for a period of about six months before slowly dimming over the next two to three years. So save the date! Subscribe! Because SMART IS THE NEW SEXY: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L The Great Filter Paradox: If Aliens Are Alive We Are Dead When water was discovered on Mars, people got very excited. Where there is water, there may be life. Such a discovery would be of tremendous scientific significance. What could be more fascinating than discovering life on another planet? Many people are waiting for news that we are not entirely alone in this vast cold space. But what is the reality? “Smart is the new sexy” is going to open the secret chamber this video. Sit down and listen attentively was we'll tell you about a barrier from universe colonization, so called “Great Filter”. Scientists think that there exists a “Great Filter”. It can be thought of as a probability barrier. It consists of more or less highly improbable evolutionary transitions or steps. The Great Filter must be powerful enough to destroy every civilization so there would be no aliens, no spacecraft, no signals, at least none that we can detect in our neck of the woods. How far along this filter are we? Where might this Great Filter be located? There are two basic possibilities. It might be behind us, somewhere in our distant past. Or it might be ahead of us, somewhere in the millennia or decades to come. Something is Affecting the Entire Solar System

09:29
Strange things are happening in both outer and inner space scientists are discovering that the Solar System, the sun, and life itself are mutating in totally unprecedented ways. They are reporting changes that are being recorded in space that have never been seen before Studies show that the Sun and the planets themselves are physically changing at an accelerated pace. Most notably, they are undergoing major changes in their atmospheres. http://www.awaken.cc/awaken/pagesE/library/ePlanetChanges.html Let's begin with the Sun. The Sun is the center of our Solar System, and all life that is on this Earth came from the Sun. If there were no Sun, we would not be alive. This is simply scientific fact. And so any changes that occur in or on the Sun will eventually affect every person alive. We know that the Sun's magnetic field has changed in the last 100 years. There's a study by Dr. Mike Lockwood from Rutherford Appleton National Laboratories, in UK. Dr. Lockwood has been investigating the Sun, and reports that since 1901 the overall magnetic field of the Sun has become stronger by 130 percent. Moon: Earth's moon is growing an atmosphere . Around the moon, there is this 6,000- kilometre- deep layer of Natrium that wasn't there before. http://sirius.bu.edu/moontail/ http://www.thelivingmoon.com/43ancients/02files/Moon_Atmosphere.html Mercury: Unexpected polar ice discovered, along with a surprisingly strong intrinsic magnetic field. Venus: 2500% increase in auroral brightness, and substantive global atmospheric changes in less than 40 years. Mars: “Global Warming,” huge storms, disappearance of polar icecaps. Jupiter: Over 200% increase in brightness of surrounding plasma clouds.(Huge belts in the giant planet's atmosphere have changed color, radiation hotspots have faded and flared up again, and cloud levels have thickened and dissolved, all while space rocks have been hurtling into it the gas giant.) http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v428/n6985/abs/nature02470.html Saturn: Major decrease in equatorial jet stream velocities in only ~30 years, accompanied by surprising surge of X-rays from equator. Uranus: Big changes in brightness, increased global cloud activity (This planet used to have a very calm atmosphere. ) Neptune: 40% increase in atmospheric brightness. http://newsoffice.mit.edu/1998/triton Pluto: 300% increase in atmospheric pressure, even as Pluto recedes farther from the Sun. http://newsoffice.mit.edu/2002/pluto Earth: Substantial and obvious world-wide weather and geophysical changes. Earth's Axis has changed. On Earth, the overall volcanic activity increased 500 percent from 1875 to 1975, while the earthquake activity has increased by 400 percent since 1973. Dr. Dmitriev says that comparing the years 1963 to 1993, the overall number of natural disasters — hurricanes, typhoons, mud slides, tidal waves, etc. — has increased by 410 percent. The Earth's magnetic field has been decreasing. This decrease actually began 2000 years ago, but the rate of decrease suddenly became much more rapid 500 years ago. Now, in the last 20 years or so, the magnetic field has become erratic.http://www.grahamhancock.com/phorum/read.php?f=3&i=1004&t=1004&v=f http://news.berkeley.edu/2014/10/14/earths-magnetic-field-could-flip-within-a-human-lifetime/ A doubling of the Sun's coronal magnetic field during the past 100 years http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v399/n6735/full/399437a0.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Lockwood_(physicist) The Sun is more active now than over the last 8000 years http://www.mpg.de/research/sun-activity-high http://www.nature.com/news/2004/041025/full/news041025-15.html Solar Influence on Global and Regional Climates http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs10712-012-9181-3 Russian Scientist Says Planets' Atmospheres are Changing http://www.awaken.cc/awaken/pagesE/library/ePlanetChanges.html Music credit: YouTube Audio Library 1) It's Coming - Josh Kirsch & Media Right Productions 2) The Island - Soundtrack - My Name is Linkoln on Tyros4 You Tube channel "Telmo Gama" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1Pf_mjuh6U

17 Scientific Facts That Seem Too Crazy to Be True

07:48
We have put together a list of the most fantastic and unbelievable scientific facts that seem too crazy to be true. This world will never stop surprising us, just take a look for yourself! Scientists have recently found that the universe tastes like raspberries and the Mona Lisa actually used to have eyebrows. The coldest place in the Universe isn’t on the Moon, where temperatures can plunge down to minus 378°F. It was recorded in a lab, where scientists in Finland managed to freeze atoms using a laser. If we could get rid of the empty space in atoms, all of humanity would fit into an apple. The biggest living organism in the world is a mushroom. Human lungs have the same surface area as a tennis court. Whether a man has a son or a daughter can often depend on what kind of siblings he has. You might have heard that a person is usually a bit taller in the morning than they are in the evening. As for the height of the Eiffel Tower, it changes depending on the weather. The cavefish can walk and climb thanks to its tetrapod-like pelvis. It uses its flippers like four-legged land animals use their limbs. your brain helps you stay fit! Assuming that the average metabolic rate during rest periods is 1,300 calories, your brain takes 260 of them! Thumbnail: Cryptotora thamicola. Its jumps are 3.14 inches per millisecond. -If just one person’s lungs were opened flat and put on the ground, they would completely cover an area as big as a tennis court. -Men inherit from their parents the tendency to have more daughters or more sons. -Archerfish can recognize people's faces with over 80% accuracy. -The height of the Eiffel Tower changes depending on the weather. In the summer heat, it can get 5.9 inches taller. -Part of the static noise you hear on an empty channel is a trace of the Big Bang. -The cavefish can walk and climb thanks to its tetrapod-like pelvis. -Mona Lisa used to have eyebrows and eyelashes. -Male chimpanzees have best friends because it helps decrease their stress level during conflicts. -The brain needs as much energy as a 10-watt light bulb. -Three cups of coffee a day can cause breasts to become smaller, especially if they were big to begin with. NASA Spacecraft Discovers New Magnetic Process in Turbulent Space

03:24
Though close to home, the space immediately around Earth is full of hidden secrets and invisible processes. In a new discovery reported in the journal Nature, scientists working with NASA’s Magnetospheric Multiscale spacecraft — MMS — have uncovered a new type of magnetic event in our near-Earth environment by using an innovative technique to squeeze extra information out of the data. Magnetic reconnection is one of the most important processes in the space — filled with charged particles known as plasma — around Earth. This fundamental process dissipates magnetic energy and propels charged particles, both of which contribute to a dynamic space weather system that scientists want to better understand, and even someday predict, as we do terrestrial weather. Reconnection occurs when crossed magnetic field lines snap, explosively flinging away nearby particles at high speeds. The new discovery found reconnection where it has never been seen before — in turbulent plasma. International Space Station

04:56
Every now and then when the sun sets, a bright light appears on the western horizon. Gliding silently overhead, it is the biggest spacecraft ever built by humankind, the International Space Station (ISS), carrying a precious cargo of astronauts around Earth. But the ISS is more than just a bright light in the night sky. It is also an out-of-this-world research laboratory. The interior of the ISS is furnished with laboratory equipment and chambers for experimental research. It’s not as large as some Earth-labs, but it has one thing that Earth-labs do not: microgravity. Gravity influences everything that happens on Earth. It’s hard to envision what life would be like without this force. Yet removing the pull of gravity can be uniquely instructive. Understanding how roots grow is directly applicable to space exploration. What does NASA need to consider when designing a plant chamber for food or life support in space? Farmers on Earth are interested, too. A deep understanding of roots can help scientists design hydroponic chambers for agriculture in areas with poor soil conditions. Since the first modules of the ISS were launched in 1998 up until 2017, more than 2400 investigations have been undertaken by over 3400 researchers in over 100 countries. Astronauts have spent more than 36,000 hours helping run the experiments for scientists back on Earth. To date, more than 1600 scientific journal and magazine articles have been published reporting the results. It’s a scientific bonanza. There are five major research areas on the ISS: (1) Biological Sciences (such as the root experiments), (2) Physical Sciences; (3) Space Science & Fundamental Physics; (4) Human Research; and (5) Earth Science. Human Research is also very interesting and dynamic, helping NASA get astronauts ready for deep space exploration with many spin-off benefits for people on Earth. The ISS: much more than just a bright light in the night, indeed.

Stephen Hawking’s 7 Predictions of Earth’s Demise in the Next 200 Years

11:01
What will happen to our planet in the next 200 years? The most famous scientist since Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, who has made profound and inspiring discoveries, predicted an extremely dark and pessimistic future to the Earth and its inhabitants. Here are some of Hawking’s most terrifying predictions on how and when our world will meet its demise. Since scientists started toying with genetically engineered viruses to treat human illnesses, they’ve also discovered other possible uses for them. Nowadays, pharmacists are even combining several deadly viruses into a single shot and doing some weird stuff with DNA mixing. Hawking was a firm believer in extraterrestrial life, and he was convinced that they will eventually invade our planet. And no, unfortunately, they probably won’t come in peace. In his final work, A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation, completed just two weeks before he died, Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. Although Hawking's life basically depended on artificial intelligence, he didn't trust it at all. He once said that it might just be “the worst invention in the history of our civilization” because it’ll probably replace humans altogether. Hawking added that global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. To save ourselves from problems like overpopulation (and the scarcity of resources that comes with it), pandemics, and pollution, we have to discover new worlds and become a multi-planetary species. Music: Diamond Ortiz - Crock Pot Gonna Onyekwe - Destination Unknown Doug Maxwell/Media Right Productions - Hipsters Hopping Doug Maxwell - Light Years Away William Rosati - Rounds Francis Preve- Stranger Danger https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Genetically modified vaccines will backfire on us. 1:04 Aliens will invade our planet. 2:36 The Universe will come to an end. 3:52 Robots will replace humans. 4:21 Nuclear weapons will destroy humanity. 5:32 We'll need to find another planet to live on. 6:03 The Earth will combust into a ball of fire. 9:17 SUMMARY -We still don't fully understand the long-term damage genetically engineered vaccine concoctions might have. -Chances are that cosmic beings will find our floating rock in space and they’ll most likely want to either destroy us or study us like lab rats. -Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. -The scientist believed that artificial intelligence could eventually outsmart and outperform humans or, worse, decide to get rid of us. -The development of militarized technology and weapons of mass destruction could lead us to disastrous consequences, which would mean the end of our world. -According to Hawking, we have to find another planet to live on within the next 100 years. Otherwise, we’ll die out as a species because Earth has already reached “the point of no return”. -Global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. The average temperature will be about 480°F. Our planet will burst into flames in less than 600 years. BIZARRE DISCOVERIES That Scientists Couldn't Explain

Try out ThePremium Network for free: http://goo.gl/GXPJFp Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Here at TheRichest, we love a good mystery. Sure, hearing the scientific reasons why things occur can be fascinating as well, but there is just something about a mysterious unexplained event or discovery that piques our interest. In this video, we’ll show you ten incredible things that scientist can’t explain. Sure, there are some theories floating around, but none have been proved to be true so far. If you thought dancing until you dropped was just an expression, wait until you hear about the disastrous Dancing Plague of 1815. We’ll also tackle the case of the L’Oiseau Blanc, or the White Bird, which is widely acknowledged as the greatest aviation mystery of all time. In another case of a baffling disappearance, we have the case of Jim Gray who left his home on a ship one clear, sunny day and never returned. Perhaps the most infamous and baffling mystery is the Dyatlov Pass Incident, in which nine experienced mountain climbers lost their lives under extremely suspect circumstances. Dive underwater with us as we explore the Bimini Road and the Yonaguni Monument. These two formations lead scientists to argue over whether they are man made, or the result of natural occurrences. Of course, no list about mysteries would be complete without the possibility of hidden pirate treasure! We’ll tell you about the Oak Island Money Pit, and how all attempts to get to the bottom of this mystery have been thwarted. Science, Technology and the Social Impacts of Outer Space Development

05:42
Recent advances in space science and technology have made it possible for humankind to begin the process of outer space development and colonization. Scientists, explorers and technology experts have been key actors, lobbying for new policies and laws to encourage the legalization of private space travel, space tourism, spaceport development, commercial space mining and for-profit space settlements. Few people are aware, or even care that a variety of priceless platinum group metals have been located in outer space, several corporations are developing a line of private spaceships, or that the Commercial Space Launch Amendments Act of 2004 initiated the advent of several newly emerging space industries. Similar to the satellite telecommunications revolution in the 1980s and 1990s, recent advances in space science and technology are demonstrating a similar pattern which is likely to become a significant factor driving the global economy of tomorrow. This paper will explain and outline the myriad of laws, policies and actions which have already been taken to develop the final frontier. It will also discuss and address the social impacts and call attention to the need for equality of opportunity as public space resources are transformed into wealth. For example, the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 mandates equality and sharing of outer space resources by all people. In addition, it will discuss a unique pedagogical approach to help mend the knowledge gaps and likely widening of inequality gaps as science and technology experts develop outer space, while everyone else is left behind. www.outerspacedevelopment.com (By: Dr. Edythe E. NASA opens a Portal & goes Public* with their Data because of a White House order

07:06
The White House passed a Bill that said NASA had to release all* their science data to the public so now NASA has opened a public space portal for everyone to enjoy! Don't get too excited tho. All the juicy disclosure planet x alien type stuff is still classified. God bless everyone, T @newTHOR on twitter https://www.facebook.com/thornewsgo the article http://yournewswire.com/nasa-makes-public-all-scientific-publications/ NASA has opened an online portal, making all the scientific research it funds freely available to all. America’s space agency has just launched a new web portal that hosts a treasure trove of scientific publications and digital data, with free online access to the public. Science Alert s: The free online archive comes in response to a new NASA policy, which requires that any NASA-funded research articles in peer-reviewed journals be publicly accessible within one year of publication. “At NASA, we are celebrating this opportunity to extend access to our extensive portfolio of scientific and technical publications,” said NASA Deputy Administrator Dava Newman. “Through open access and innovation we invite the global community to join us in exploring Earth, air, and space.” NASA Makes Public All Scientific Publications Posted on August 21, 2016 by Edmondo Burr in Sci/Environment // Comments (0) nasa NASA has opened an online portal, making all the scientific research it funds freely available to all. “Through open access and innovation we invite the global community to join us in exploring Earth, air, and space.” The database is called PubSpace, and the public can access NASA-funded research articles in it by searching for whatever they’re interested in, or by just browsing all the NASA-funded papers. “Making our research data easier to access will greatly magnify the impact of our research,” said NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan. “As scientists and engineers, we work by building upon a foundation laid by others.” Right now, there are some 861 research articles in the database, and you can expect that number to keep rising as NASA-funded researchers get on board with the new policy. As you’d expect, there’s an enormous spread of research already on offer, ranging from exercise rountines to maintain health during long-duration space missions, to the prospects for life on Titan, and the risk of miscarriage for flight attendants exposed to cosmic radiation. All of this is now free for researchers or anybody with an interest in science to check out and download – a welcome change from when much of the content was locked behind a paywall. But not all NASA-funded research can be found in the archive. As the space agency indicates, patents and material governed by personal privacy, proprietary, or security laws are exempt from having to be included in PubSpace. NASA’s move comes in response to a 2013 request from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, which directed major science-funding agencies to come up with ways of increasing access to the results of publicly funded research. It also follows a growing general trend towards more openness in science research and academia more broadly. With frustration stemming over the commercial control wielded by the companies who own most academic publishing, some researchers are bypassing established journals altogether by uploading their work directly to the internet. Others are illegally sharing scientific papers online in a dramatic bid to spread knowledge. At the same time, there are calls in Europe to make all published science funded by the public free. The same logic is what’s behind NASA’s new portal – but even the space agency itself could benefit from the initiative, which will help it keep track of all the research it’s funding more easily. “This’ll be the first time that NASA’s had all of their publications in one place, so we estimate what our publication rate is for the agency, but this will actually be able to tell us what it is,” NASA Deputy Chief Scientist Gale Allen told Samantha Ehlinger at FedScoop. “And we’ll be able to show even further what we’re doing with taxpayer dollars.”

Who Still Denies Electric Currents in Space? | Space News

17:16
EU2017: Future Science -- Rebroadcast—only $29: https://www.electricuniverse.live As we’ve reported recently, new papers in peer-reviewed astrophysical journals propose that powerful electric currents flow in extra-galactic jets and that the jets themselves are “fundamentally electromagnetic structures.” However, if you follow science media, it’s likely that you’ve not noticed any attempt to contextualize the development as significant for astrophysics. One person who has noticed this disconnect is Thunderbolts colleague Chris Reeve, who has spent many years documenting online discourse on scientific controversies. Recently, Chris published a commentary exploring why the recognition of vast, cosmic electric currents has apparently yet to register either with science journalists or most online commentators. In this episode, we present Chris' comments, published in posts on the website Slashdot.org.
