Most MYSTERIOUS Recent Discoveries By NASA!
Check out the Most MYSTERIOUS Recent Discoveries By NASA! From strange unexplained planets found in space to possible life on mars, this top 10 list of unsolved mysteries has some of the coolest things discovered by NASA in recent years! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "REAL Mermaid Sightings Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/ChM0CBRmVsM Watch our "10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!" video here: https://youtu.be/0XROvoPCDNc Watch our "STRANGEST Animals People Keep As Pets!" video here: https://youtu.be/OMa96nPqz-Y 9. Water on Mars Many books, TV shows, and movies have fantasized about colonizing the planet Mars. The only problem is that Mars is not a place that can sustain life in its current state, and just as bad, it does not have any water...or so we thought. In 2018, scans from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter discovered that formations on the planet were actually caused by water that is still there right now. 8. Multiple "Earths" In February 2017, NASA discovered that there might be 7 Earth-like planets orbiting a dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1. In fact, all seven of these planets were found in the same galaxy, which is a very rare thing indeed. 7. Liquid on Titan Saturn has 53 moons that have been named by scientists, and more could actually be named in the future. One of the most popular of these moons is the one known as Titan. It's been the source of much research, and has even been home to an alien race in the Marvel Comics Universe. During a scan by the Cassini Space Probe of NASA, they found that in certain gorges and canyons of Titan, there are actually pools of liquid, specifically hydrocarbons. 6. Comet Soup In 2005, NASA sent their Deep Impact spacecraft into a comet called Tempel 1. If you're curious as to why they would destroy one of their craft by crashing it into a comet on purpose, it is because they wanted to analyze the content and particles that were released from the impact. 5. Saturn's Rings The Rings of Saturn are not only the most defining features of the planet, but also one of the most recognizable things in all of our solar system. Strangely enough NASA speculates that the rings are "dying". 4. Jupiter's Orbit NASA has long tried to get a spacecraft into Jupiter's orbit. But because of conditions in the planet's atmosphere, it's been a very difficult task. Not to mention, getting a craft near the planet in terms of its position in space is also hard. Yet, on July 4th, 2016, the Juno became the first spacecraft to make it into Jupiter's orbit, which by NASA's own admission was one of the hardest things they've ever done. 3. Supermassive Black Hole The Hubble Space Telescope is one of NASA's biggest tools in regards to searching deep space for new discoveries, and in February of 2016, the telescope took a picture of a galaxy and found a black hole of astonishing size. 2. Ice Volcanoes On Earth, volcanoes spew fire, ash, soot, and smoke, but on the dwarf planet (a planet that never matured to full size) called Ceres, the volcanoes ice! This was discovered by NASA via their Dawn Spacecraft in 2015, which was observing Ceres (which orbits between Mars and Jupiter). 1. Reaching Ultima Thule 4 billion miles away from Earth, there is an object known as Ultima Thule. This "celestial body" is actually two round objects made of an unknown composition that are actually fused together. NASA has released the first up-close stereo images of this celestial body via the New Horizons spacecraft, making this the most distant object that a spacecraft from Earth has ever explored. 10 MUST-SEE SPACE EVENTS That'II Happen In Your Lifetime
Subscribe! Because SMART IS THE NEW SEXY: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel. In today’s video Smart is the New Sexy will be talking about the calendar of the most recent and upcoming cosmic events that most of us can witness in our lifetime. Are you curious to know when the planets align? Keep watching to find out. And...What we definitely should see is creation of new star visible by the naked eye in 2022. (01:54) A group of scientists based at Calvin College, Michigan have made the bold 1-in-a-million prediction for 2022. They believe that we will be able to witness the birth of a new Red Nova or ‘Boom’ star sometime in 2022 following the collision of the binary star KIC9832227. The two suns orbit each other every 11 hours or so. However, their orbit has been observed speeding up in a predictable way - leading to a dance of death with a predictable and explosive conclusion. The new star would be the brightest in the night sky for a period of about six months before slowly dimming over the next two to three years. So save the date! And watch the full video with BONUS inside (06:45). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: http://facebook.com/enjoy.science/ The Bright Side of Youtube: https://goo.gl/rQTJZz 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Stephen Hawking’s 7 Predictions of Earth’s Demise in the Next 200 Years
What will happen to our planet in the next 200 years? The most famous scientist since Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, who has made profound and inspiring discoveries, predicted an extremely dark and pessimistic future to the Earth and its inhabitants. Here are some of Hawking’s most terrifying predictions on how and when our world will meet its demise. Since scientists started toying with genetically engineered viruses to treat human illnesses, they’ve also discovered other possible uses for them. Nowadays, pharmacists are even combining several deadly viruses into a single shot and doing some weird stuff with DNA mixing. Hawking was a firm believer in extraterrestrial life, and he was convinced that they will eventually invade our planet. And no, unfortunately, they probably won’t come in peace. In his final work, A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation, completed just two weeks before he died, Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. Although Hawking's life basically depended on artificial intelligence, he didn't trust it at all. He once said that it might just be “the worst invention in the history of our civilization” because it’ll probably replace humans altogether. Hawking added that global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. To save ourselves from problems like overpopulation (and the scarcity of resources that comes with it), pandemics, and pollution, we have to discover new worlds and become a multi-planetary species. Music: Diamond Ortiz - Crock Pot Gonna Onyekwe - Destination Unknown Doug Maxwell/Media Right Productions - Hipsters Hopping Doug Maxwell - Light Years Away William Rosati - Rounds Francis Preve- Stranger Danger https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Genetically modified vaccines will backfire on us. 1:04 Aliens will invade our planet. 2:36 The Universe will come to an end. 3:52 Robots will replace humans. 4:21 Nuclear weapons will destroy humanity. 5:32 We'll need to find another planet to live on. 6:03 The Earth will combust into a ball of fire. 9:17 SUMMARY -We still don't fully understand the long-term damage genetically engineered vaccine concoctions might have. -Chances are that cosmic beings will find our floating rock in space and they’ll most likely want to either destroy us or study us like lab rats. -Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. -The scientist believed that artificial intelligence could eventually outsmart and outperform humans or, worse, decide to get rid of us. -The development of militarized technology and weapons of mass destruction could lead us to disastrous consequences, which would mean the end of our world. -According to Hawking, we have to find another planet to live on within the next 100 years. Otherwise, we’ll die out as a species because Earth has already reached “the point of no return”. -Global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. The average temperature will be about 480°F. Our planet will burst into flames in less than 600 years. 12 TRICKY Lies You Were Told About Space
Subscribe! Because SMART IS THE NEW SEXY: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Have you ever wondered if everything that we hear about space is true? Also stay with us till the end of the video because there is an intriguing bonus waiting for you. Well, first of all astronauts are NOT weightless in orbit. It may seem that they're floating in space when doing something outside the ISS. But actually they're falling. The sun is NOT a big ball of fire. The Sun does not "burn", like we think of logs in a fire or paper burning. The Sun glows because it is a very big ball of gas, and a process called nuclear fusion is taking place in its core. The Lost Women In Space...What Did Happen?
Be like SMART BANANA: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Hey, everyone. It’s me Mr. Banana. What do you imagine when you hear a phrase “a human in space? I’m sure, you think about men. But what about women? Imagine if the first person on the moon had proclaimed, “That's one small step for woman, one giant leap for mankind”. It could have happened. In the late 1950s, the United States government contemplated training women as astronauts, and newly released medical test results show that they were just as cool and tough as the men who went to the moon. They were all extraordinary women and outstanding pilots and great candidates for what was proposed. They came out better than the men in many categories. But then something went wrong... 13 Scariest Theories That'll Make Your Blood Run Cold
Where did we come from? Where are we headed? What is our world? Are we alone in the universe? When the mental gears really start moving, people can come up with theories that are downright terrifying! In this video, you'll learn about 13 of the scariest theories that’ll make you question everything you thought you knew about your reality. TIMESTAMPS: The Great Filter 1:28 Higher dimensional beings 2:33 False Vacuum 3:23 We're living in a black hole 4:10 White Holes 4:50 The Multiverse Theory 5:25 Brain in a Vat 6:03 Roko's Basilisk 6:48 The Transcension Hypothesis 7:21 The Terror Management Theory 8:00 The Sixth Mass Extinction 8:35 The Fermi Paradox 9:17 The Simulation Theory 10:00 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - According to The Great Filter theory, somewhere out there exists a Great Filter. The main purpose of this Filter is to stop those civilizations that advance to the level of star colonization. - What if a 4D being was looking at you from their four-dimensional world? Just like a 2D person, you wouldn't be able to notice this creature in your 3D world. - The False Vacuum theory says that our universe exists in a false phase state, which means that it's just a temporary thing. What's more, it's only a small part of a larger universe. - You’re probably well-aware that black holes suck in everything around them. But what happens to the stuff it engulfs? What if a black hole already swallowed us up long ago? Surprisingly, some physicists deem this theory pretty plausible. - While black holes engulf all matter so that even light can’t escape, white holes are quite the opposite. These formations are believed to spit out everything that black holes suck in. - The Multiverse theory claims that there might be countless other realities besides our own. - The Brain in a Vat theory says that you very well could just be a brain in a jar. Something is feeding you false impulses, and you're hallucinating your whole life and reality. - Roko's Basilisk is a hypothesis that some future super-powerful artificial intellect can retroactively punish people who struggled against it in the past (which is our present) or even those who did nothing to help bring it about. - The Transcension Hypothesis states that a civilization eventually gets to a certain intellectual level. - According to the Terror Management theory, everything we do comes from the fear of death. Our wishes and motivation are based on just one thing, and it’s the idea that one day we will stop existing. - The Sixth Mass Extinction theory is probably the most horrifying. Yet, unfortunately, it’s the most probable scenario. Some biologists believe that humanity is headed for or already passing through the sixth mass extinction - The Fermi Paradox theory explains why we probably wouldn't recognize an advanced alien civilization even if it was right under our nose. - According to the Simulation theory, we all live in an incredibly complex computer game. #spacefacts #blackhole #greatfilter Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

7 Recent Scientific Discoveries Nobody's Talking About
Everyone is always talking about technological advancements and science constantly speeding up with each year. But why don’t we know how dinosaurs went extinct or if there was ever life on Mars? And what about space travel, hoverboards, and flying cars?! Ok, we’re not there yet, but here are some other recent discoveries that bring us closer to a bright future! Other videos you might like: 15 Accidental Inventions You Can't Imagine Your Life Without https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO1brxn1rNs& 10 Strange Things Found Frozen In Ice Antarctica https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOtLCXM8Ox8& 12 Scientific Discoveries That'll Send Chills Down Your Spine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1GqO6UY15I& TIMESTAMPS: Evidence of the Moment Dinosaurs Went Extinct 0:33 Mars Once Had Huge Rivers 1:42 New Orca Species Found 2:23 Coral Transplantation to Save the Ocean 3:14 New Way to Prevent Global Warming 4:38 Type One Diabetes Treatment 5:40 MRI in 70 Seconds 7:20 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Paleontologist Robert DePalma found a huge slate in North Dakota filled with all kinds of fossils. This slate has tons of fish fossils, proving that the ocean was devastated by this strike. - Mars had multiple wet periods, the last one ending some 1 billion years ago. While these periods were active, Mars had rivers much wider than those on Earth, and their flow was constant for a span of over 4 billion years. - We now have ourselves a completely new orca species. At the moment, they’re called “type D” orcas. They’re pretty similar to their more famous cousins. But they have some distinct features, like a much more rounded head, smaller white eyepatches, and an overall smaller body size. - Little patches of coral grow 25 times faster than corals normally do! With this advanced method, it’s possible to transplant these corals to their natural relatives and watch those reefs live again! - There is a new way to prevent global warming. It is based on using hot liquid metal and liquid electrolyte to catch carbon dioxide from the air and turn it into solid carbon flakes. - There’s a great probability that the medical community will find a way to deal with Type One diabetes in the near future. The scientists from the City of Hope have all kinds of ideas in mind as to how they can cure this problem, from cell transplantation to growing these cells from scratch. - A team of researchers led by Stefen Skare and Tim Sprenger from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden came up with the idea of mixing MRI tests with the technology used in much quicker scanning called Echo-Planar Imaging or EPI. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space”. Truer words have never been spoken. In fact, the universe is so big that its size and scope is nearly incomprehensible, even to the most knowledgeable and open-minded individuals. With a diameter of more than 93 billion light-years, it’s not too surprising that so many extreme objects are lurking out there within it. And today we in Smart Banana prepared a list of 10 interesting discoveries in space that will blow your mind and one bonus at the end. Ready? We think we know everything about our home planet, but we couldn’t be more wrong. Scientists have already discovered a lot about the Universe, but they believe there is still much more to learn about our planet. TIMESTAMPS Mount Everest is NOT the tallest mountain in the world 0:35 Neighboring states can have a 24-hour time difference 1:05 The driest place on Earth is located in Antarctica 1:24 Freshwater represents only 3% of all water on Earth 1:51 The world’s oldest temple is about 12,000 years old 2:15 The Moon was once part of Earth 2:35 Continents will reunite in 250 million years 2:59 A single-celled organism caused the first mass extinction 3:39 Most of our planet always lies in the dark 5:19 Earth’s atmosphere has borders 4:40 SUMMARY -  If measured from the base to the summit, Mauna Kea is 33,475 feet high, which is 4,445 feet taller than Mount Everest. - Despite the fact that American Samoa is only 1,240 miles away from the Line Islands that form part of Kiribati, the time difference between the two neighbors is 25 hours. - The McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica have seen no rain for nearly 2 million years. The winds here can reach speeds of 200 miles per hour. - The oceans and seas hold 97% of Earth’s water, but it’s salty ocean water, not suitable for drinking. - Researchers believe that the carvings on the pillars prove that roughly 11,000 years ago a comet strike caused a sudden temperature drop on our planet. - Swedish scientists suggest that some 4.36 billion years ago planet Earth collided with hypothesized planetary-mass object Theia, leading to the formation of Earth’s only permanent natural satellite. - Scientists believe the continents will group together again in 250 to 300 million years from now and will become a single supercontinent called Pangaea Ultima. - Scientists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology suggest a theory explaining the mass extinction that wiped out almost 90% of all living creatures on Earth. - The World Ocean occupies 71% of our planet’s surface. The depth of the water exposed to sunlight is no more that 655 feet, so the rest of the water is permanently in the dark. - The Kármán line is an internationally accepted line that lies at an altitude of 62 miles above sea level. The Alien Signals Mystery Might Have Been Solved
What are those scary metallic sounds from space? Do aliens send signals to us? Scientists may finally have been discovered the source of the strange sound from space. We’ve learned a lot about the universe, but there’s still so much we don’t know. One mystery in particular has been tormenting the minds of scientists for years. In 2007, researchers caught some weird radio signals coming from a place billions of light-years away. These signals weren’t the first radio signals scientists ever heard coming from deep space. They’re something known as fast radio bursts (FRBs) and can be described as short pulses of radio flashes arriving from the galactic outskirts of the universe. These bursts, whose exact sources are completely unknown to us, last a tiny fraction of a second and usually appear alone. Researchers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics suppose that the source of these FRBs could be a gigantic transmitter twice the size of Earth powered by sunlight. The second theory states that strong extragalactic beeps seem to be arriving from a massive black hole or an unprecedentedly powerful neutron star located more than 3 billion light-years from our planet in a potent interstellar nebula. Jason Hessels, associate professor of the University of Amsterdam, and his team of researchers believe that the source of the bursts could be a rotating neutron star whose home is a place with a harsh magnetic environment, for example, a black hole that’s sucking in dust and gas and, therefore, still growing. TIMESTAMPS Signals from space in 2007 1:06 The source of the mysterious “alien signals”: Theory 1: a gigantic transmitter 2:26 Why FRB 121102 is unique 4:45 Theory 2: black hole 5:30 Theory 3: neutron star 7:00 How many radio bursts occur 8:59 Bonus: The Sun’s Influence On Our Planet 10:20 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -In 2007, researchers caught some weird radio signals coming from a place billions of light-years away, and these strange sounds definitely got their attention. -Researchers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics suppose that the source of these FRBs could be a gigantic transmitter twice the size of Earth powered by sunlight. -Scientists have already observed as many as 200 high-energy radio pulses emitted by FRB 121102 in just 5 years of study which makes it unique. -Astronomers believe these unusually strong extragalactic beeps seem to be arriving from a massive black hole or an unprecedentedly powerful neutron star located more than 3 billion light-years from our planet in a potent interstellar nebula. -The source of the bursts lies in a star-forming area of a dwarf galaxy, and the electromagnetic waves that create the bursts follow an absolutely unique pattern. It means that they originate from a place with a magnetic field that’s incredibly strong. Such fields can be found near neutron stars or massive black holes like the ones in the centers of galaxies. -The astronomers from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have been trying to calculate the number of potential FRBs occurring in the part of the universe we can observe. The results are quite shocking: at least one fast radio burst goes off in some place every second. -According to scientists, in the next 100 years the Sun’s activity will lead to a significant temperature change on Earth, decreasing it by half a degree. 7 SPACE Conspiracies that Will BLOW Your Mind
7 Space Mysteries and Conspiracies In November 2014 the world rejoiced as the Rosetta spacecraft successfully dispatched the Philae lander onto the comet 67P Churyumov Gerasimenko. Well, most of the world celebrated, aside from the morons obsessed with Matt Taylor’s Hawaiian shirt, which I personally think was an awesome piece of clothing any man would be proud to wear. But what’s more interesting is how the Rosetta mission was suspiciously well-funded and swiftly executed, and the reason why will blow your mind. On January 6th 2015 NASA was broadcasting a live feed from the International Space Station’s High Definition Earth Viewing Platform when suddenly, this happened. The Russian Space Agency has attempted 22 probe missions to Mars, and all but one have been a complete failure. The red planet doesn’t want to invite the red Russians to the party, because even their one vaguely successful attempt involved only brief observations before the lander failed. So why do Putin and his pals have such bad luck in trying to reach the Martian surface? The answer may lie at the doorstep of these fellas. Climate Change is a literal hot topic right now, with scientists and people on the left claiming man is to blame for global warming, and conspiracy theorists and right-wingers claiming it’s a natural phenomenon exaggerated by dirty hippies with a total nature boner. The theory that man never made it to the moon is a popular conspiracy, but for all the observations on light, shadows, atmospheric conditions and the rest, most people fail to take into account one giant problem with their analysis – Russia. At the Cold War’s height the Soviets would’ve jumped all over the slightest hint of space-skull-duggery, but the USA’s greatest nemesis fully verified the achievement of the crew of Apollo 11. However, what may not be real are the videos of this historic moment. One of the main reasons so many moon-landing conspiracists continue to believe man never went to the moon is the lack of evidence provided by modern day technology. They argue if the Government pointed the Hubble Space Telescope at the moon landing sites we’d have all the proof we need. So why won’t NASA do this? Come on NASA, stop being such a tease.

NASA Spacecraft Discovers New Magnetic Process in Turbulent Space
Though close to home, the space immediately around Earth is full of hidden secrets and invisible processes. In a new discovery reported in the journal Nature, scientists working with NASA’s Magnetospheric Multiscale spacecraft — MMS — have uncovered a new type of magnetic event in our near-Earth environment by using an innovative technique to squeeze extra information out of the data. Magnetic reconnection is one of the most important processes in the space — filled with charged particles known as plasma — around Earth. This fundamental process dissipates magnetic energy and propels charged particles, both of which contribute to a dynamic space weather system that scientists want to better understand, and even someday predict, as we do terrestrial weather. Reconnection occurs when crossed magnetic field lines snap, explosively flinging away nearby particles at high speeds. The new discovery found reconnection where it has never been seen before — in turbulent plasma. 7 Unique Places That Science Has Yet to Explain
Exploring outer space is awesome, but what if there are places right here on Earth that are just as incredible and jaw-dropping? Luckily for you, you live on Planet Earth, a place that holds secrets so wild and baffling that even scientists can’t always explain them! Have you ever heard about the Boiling River in the Amazon or never-ending light storm? Can you believe that there’s a place on Earth with its own ecosystem and atmosphere, similar to another planet? Maybe you wanna see dancing lights in the sky? Well, the residents of Hessdalen Valley, Norway, can enjoy them every night! The world is full of amazing things, so prepare to be amazed as you learn about 7 of the most unbelievable mysteries and phenomena. Other videos you might like: Who Lives In the Deepest Place On Earth? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq4lbCC24js& 10 Terrifying Places Science Still Can't Explain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvyHolI93xE 10 Strange Things Found Frozen In Ice Antarctica https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOtLCXM8Ox8& TIMESTAMPS: The Devil’s Kettle Waterfall 0:41 Stonehenge 1:53 The Hessdalen Lights 3:17 The Boiling River in the Amazon 4:23 Movile Cave 6:09 Circles of Namibia 7:30 Western Venezuela’s Never-Ending Light Storm 8:28 #funsciense #amazingplaces #mysteriousplaces Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - What’s interesting about this waterfall is that it has 2 different bodies of falling water. One side has water falling into another body of water, Lake Superior; the other one has water that falls straight into a huge natural hole in the ground. Where does this water lead? No one seems to know! - While today we have machines that can help us lift heavy materials to build giant buildings and monuments, back in the days when Stonehenge was built, no one had access to this type of technology. - In Hessdalen Valley, brightly colored lights appear in the sky in different colors and shapes. For the last 4 decades (and possibly longer!), this phenomenon has continued to puzzle scientists. - Deep in the Amazon rainforests lies a flowing river in the forested region of Mayantuyacu that boasts temperatures so hot that any person or animal that falls into it literally boils alive from the inside out. - Movile Cave, located in Southeastern Romania, remained closed in complete darkness for a whopping 5.5 million years! Scientists carved out an opening to the cave and found that a completely sustained ecosystem was thriving inside! - Circles of Namibia are almost perfect and range anywhere from 10 to 65 ft in diameter. Many scientists have offered up theories as to why these circles appear instead of other more random shapes. - But in Western Venezuela, over the mouth of the Catatumbo River, there’s a lightning storm that seems to be running on Energizer batteries — it just keeps going and going! Once the clock strikes 7 PM, the lightning storm begins and doesn’t relent for another 10 long hours. 10 Facts About Our Planet You Didn't Learn In School
We seem to think we know pretty much all there is to know about our Earth that nothing can surprise us at this point. You’ll be amazed when you find out how much you have yet to learn about our home planet: let’s start with 10 little-known earthly facts. You might know that it’s called “the blue planet”, but did you know that scientists say Earth was originally a different color? Or that the Moon isn’t Earth’s only satellite? The magnetic field is vital for Earth because it protects the planet from the impact of solar winds. We think of our planet’s magnetic field as something constant and stable, but the truth is that it’s changing. James Ross, an explorer and British naval officer, pinpointed the northern magnetic pole for the first time in 1831. In 1904, Roald Amundsen, a polar regions explorer from Norway, reached the north magnetic pole again and was surprised to find that it had shifted 31 miles since Ross's discovery. Earth, despite common belief, isn't perfectly round. It’s more like a squashed sphere. So its mass is irregular and differs in various places, which causes “wobbles” of gravity in different areas of the planet. A smaller celestial body about 750 miles wide orbited Earth like a second moon. It most likely crashed into our main satellite later on. Scientists also don't rule out the probability that one day Earth will get another satellite. If all the gold found inside the Earth could be extracted, it would be enough to cover the entire surface of the planet in a 2-foot layer of gold. And if we gave everyone an equal piece, each one of Earth’s inhabitants would get 9 pounds of this treasure. Magma lurking below the surface of crater lakes emits carbon dioxide into the waters of the lakes. This carbon dioxide builds up in a thick layer at the bottom of the lakes until pressure gives way, and it’s released in an explosion. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS The Moon is probably a chunk of the Earth. 0:40 The Earth’s magnetic field is changing. 1:21 Gravity isn’t the same everywhere on the planet. 2:53 Earth had and still might have one more moon. 4:09 There are “moonquakes” on the Moon. 5:13 Our planet is covered in gold. 5:54 Earth used to be purple. 6:39 The tallest mountain on the planet isn’t what you think. 7:18 Earth has exploding lakes. 8:22 Earth is home to the most powerful volcanic eruption ever. 9:15 SUMMARY -About 4 billion years ago, a gigantic space rock the size of Mars collided with our planet. As a result, a huge chunk of the Earth broke away and later became our satellite, the Moon. -Researchers say that since the 19th century, the northern magnetic pole has shifted about 685 miles, moving northwestward across the Canadian Arctic. -One of the gravitational anomalies is found in Canada’s Hudson Bay, where gravity is much weaker than anywhere else on the planet. -Some scientists believe that our planet used to have an additional satellite that crashed into our main satellite later on. -Earthquakes on the Moon are much deeper and closer to the center of our satellite, about halfway between the surface and the core. -About 20 million tons of gold can be found inside our very own planet and in the seas. -Dr. Shil DasSarma, a microbial geneticist from the University of Maryland, thinks that ancient microbes probably didn’t use chlorophyll but other molecules to process sunlight and our planet used to be purple. -If measured from the very bottom on the ocean floor to the peak, Mauna Kea is 33,000 feet tall, making it, technically, the tallest mountain on the planet. -Nyos, Monoun, and Kivu are crater lakes in Africa that are located over volcanic earth. -The most powerful eruption ever recorded happened in April 1815 in Indonesia. It was ranked a 7 (or “super-colossal”) on the Volcanic Explosivity Index. Does Science Argue for or against God?
Why are we here? Literally. The latest science says we shouldn’t be. It says that the chance life exists at all is less than zero. So, is science the greatest threat to the idea of Intelligent Design or is science its greatest advocate? Best-selling author and lecturer, Eric Metaxas, poses this intriguing question and comes up with a very unexpected and challenging answer. The cover reflected the fact that many people had accepted the cultural narrative that God is obsolete -- that, as science progresses there is less need for a "God" to explain the universe. It turns out, though, that the rumors of God's death were premature. In fact, perhaps the best arguments for his existence come from -- of all places -- science itself. Here's the story: The same year Time featured its now-famous headline, the astronomer Carl Sagan announced that there were two necessary criteria for a planet to support life: The right kind of star, and a planet the right distance from that star. Given the roughly octillion planets in the universe -- that's 1 followed by 24 zeros -- there should have been about septillion planets -- that's 1 followed by 21 zeros -- capable of supporting life. With such spectacular odds, scientists were optimistic that the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, known by its initials, SETI, an ambitious project launched in the 1960's, was sure to turn up something soon. With a vast radio telescopic network, scientists listened for signals that resembled coded intelligence. But as the years passed, the silence from the universe was deafening. As of 2014, researchers have discovered precisely bubkis, nada, zilch, which is to say zero followed by an infinite number of zeros. What happened? As our knowledge of the universe increased, it became clear that there were, in fact, far more factors necessary for life -- let alone intelligent life -- than Sagan supposed. His two parameters grew to 10, then 20, and then 50, which meant that the number of potentially life-supporting planets decreased accordingly. The number dropped to a few thousand planets and kept on plummeting. Even SETI proponents acknowledged the problem. Peter Schenkel wrote in a 2006 piece for Skeptical Inquirer, a magazine that strongly affirms atheism: "In light of new findings and insights . . . . We should quietly admit that the early estimates . . . may no longer be tenable." Today there are more than 200 known parameters necessary for a planet to support life--every single one of which must be perfectly met, or the whole thing falls apart. For example, without a massive, gravity-rich planet like Jupiter nearby to draw away asteroids, Earth would be more like an interstellar dartboard than the verdant orb that it is. Simply put, the odds against life in the universe are astonishing. Yet here we are, not only existing, but talking about existing. What can account for it? Can every one of those many parameters have been perfectly met by accident? At what point is it fair to admit that it is science itself that suggests that we cannot be the result of random forces? Doesn't assuming that an intelligence created these perfect conditions in fact require far less faith than believing that a life-sustaining Earth just happened to beat the inconceivable odds? It might be inferred that I am alluding to the curvature of space supposed to exist according to the teachings of relativity, but nothing could be further from my mind. I hold that space cannot be curved, for the simple reason that it can have no properties. It might as well be said that God has properties. He has not, but only attributes and these are of our own making. Of properties we can only speak when dealing with matter filling the space. To say that in the presence of large bodies space becomes curved, is equivalent to stating that something can act upon nothing. I for one, refuse to subscribe to such a view." -- Nikola Tesla To Tesla, the Theory of Relativity was just "a mass of error and deceptive ideas violently opposed to the teachings of great men of science of the past and even to common sense. The theory wraps all these errors and fallacies and clothes them in magnificent mathematical garb which fascinates, dazzles and makes people blind to the underlying error. The theory is like a beggar clothed in purple whom ignorant people take for a king. Its exponents are very brilliant men, but they are metaphysicists rather than scientists." Thus, Tesla brazenly concluded, "Not a single one of the relativity propositions has been proved." The most mysterious star in the universe | Tabetha Boyajian
Something massive, with roughly 1,000 times the area of Earth, is blocking the light coming from a distant star known as KIC 8462852, and nobody is quite sure what it is. As astronomer Tabetha Boyajian investigated this perplexing celestial object, a colleague suggested something unusual: Could it be an alien-built megastructure? Such an extraordinary idea would require extraordinary evidence. In this talk, Boyajian gives us a look at how scientists search for and test hypotheses when faced with the unknown. Top 10 More MIND BLOWING Theories About the UNIVERSE
As we mentioned in our first list about mind bending theories about the universe, the universe is a vast and mysterious place. For centuries, people have looked out into space and tried to explain why we’re here and where we came from. While it may take even more centuries before any of those questions are answered, it doesn’t mean scientists don’t have theories. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net →Top 10 Objects That Were Clearly Invented Just to Annoy Physics: https://youtu.be/0MVGeRa-vLo Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! At least, that’s the claim made by NASA’s administrator Jim Bridenstine, who says he’s not interested in just leaving “flags and footprints” on the lunar surface. " How to Build a Moon Base https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-07107-4 "Researchers relish the idea of a base for conducting experiments on the Moon and as a way to trial technologies for heading to Mars. They Claim Our Moon Is Artificial And Built By Aliens!
Be like SMART BANANA: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel! In 1975, Donald Wilson published "Our Mysterious Spaceship Moon: Is Our Nearest Neighbor A Huge Alien Spacecraft?" in which he provided evidence to support this theory. In 1976, George H. Leonard published "Someone on the Moon", in which he reprinted several NASA photos of the lunar surface claiming the theory above. Whether those mentioned above were right or not, we at Smart Banana decided to see some of the mysteries surrounding this natural or artificial Earth satellite! Ten of the Top Scientific Facts in the Bible
If it's true that the Bible contains scientific facts that were written thousands of years before man discovered them, the implications are staggering. These facts would be evidence that the Bible is the word of God, and its promise of Heaven and threat of Hell are therefore not to be mocked or ignored. "Ten of the Top Scientific Facts in the Bible" is a half-hour of awe-inspiring and faith-building video, filled with ancient biblical truths—the earth’s free float in space, the dinosaur and why it disappeared, laws of quarantine, the earth being round, and much more. This is a powerful resource to encourage Christians, and to challenge the most hardened skeptic to take the claims of the gospel seriously. "Excellent! This video will captivate you." -Jeff Seto, Aerospace Engineer & author. This video is a part of the Living Waters "Lightning Productions" resource line. This line is focused on creating simple yet powerful videos that can be used as effective evangelistic tools to reach the lost. The simplified nature of these new productions (in contrast to our higher budget and graphics-intensive movies) will enable us to produce more videos, and in a shorter amount of time. Scientists Finally Discovered the Truth About Easter Island
We all know that the easter island heads have bodies – that’s not a mystery at all. But how did the easter island population build hundreds of statues? Scientists have recently solved this mystery and discovered where these people disappeared to and why. For many decades, people's minds have been occupied with the mystery of Easter Island. A remote piece of volcanic soil, far away in the Pacific Ocean... But our planet hosts thousands of such lonely islands, what is so particular about this one? The mystery is concealed not in the island itself but giant stone statues covering it. Who created the world-famous huge stone heads? Did they serve any specific purpose? Where did their creators arrive from and where did they disappear? Well, it seems the answer is finally just around the corner! #easterisland #mystery #easterislandheads TIMESTAMPS What do we know about Easter Island? 1:05 Amazing facts about Easter Island 2:18 How have the statues been moved around the island? 5:25 How could create Easter Island monuments? 7:24 What happened to people on Easter Island? 8:09 SUMMARY - Where is Easter Island located? Rapa Nui (which is the name given to Easter Island by its first inhabitants) is the territory of Chile and is situated in the southern Pacific Ocean. And it is so, so far that you can easily consider it one of the most distant places on the world's map. It lies 1,200 miles away from Pitcairn, which is its closest neighbor. - What's the main secret of the statues? Most statues (834 out of 887) were carved from the material called tuff which is, in fact, compressed volcanic ash. Curiously, all the statues except one group face inland. It means their backs are turned to the ocean. Perhaps the reason for that was the belief that the statues were the protectors of the villagers that's why they overlooked the settlement. The only statues not fitting into this pattern can be found at Ahu Akivi, a sacred place for the people of Rapa Nui. - Theories about how the statues had been moved. One of the most popular ones among the lovers of mysteries was the belief that the statues had been created and moved by aliens. But even if you like this theory, we are sorry to debunk it. The stone the statues were built from originates from the island itself. The birthplace of most of the material was an extinct volcano situated in the north-east of Easter Island and not another planet. - A new study about the island. A new study has been conducted recently to specify the maximum number of the inhabitants in the heyday of the island's civilization. The results arrived, and they were quite unexpected. It turned out that as many as 17 and a half thousand people could comfortably live on the island. At least 19 percent of the land could be covered with the fields of sweet potatoes that used to be the main source of food for the population. What is more, the islanders consumed quite a lot of seafood and fish. - Why did people on Easter Island disappear? At first, it was believed that the reason for such a decrease of the population was an ecocide. The natives cut out large forests and palm trees making spare room for moving the statues around as well as agriculture. They thought the trees were going to grow back fast enough. It was a misleading concept. The deterioration of the environment resulted in hunger. And this, in turn, led to wars and cannibalism. Nowadays, however, such a theory has been proven wrong. First of all, Rapa Nui inhabitants seemed to be very talented agricultural engineers. They deliberately fertilized the fields with the volcanic rock. In fact, another research has shown that people had been living on the island for many centuries. And the population only started to decrease when Europeans began visiting. 5 Baffling Mysteries About the Universe
At the beginning of the 20th century, many scientists thought that we had learned all there was to know about physics. The problem is, the better we get at measuring things and building models of our universe, the more we discover that there are plenty of mysteries left to solve...
