Guinness World Record: Biggest Wave Ever Surfed (80 Feet) Rodrigo Koxa @ Nazaré, Portugal

01:08
Rodrigo Koxa, 38 years old from Brazil, just won the WSL Biggest Wave Award yesterday in a ceremony held in Los Angeles. The wave in question was ridden back in November 8, 2017 in Praia do Norte, Nazaré Portugal, and was now officially measured at 80 feet, making this a new Guinness World Record for “Biggest Wave ever Surfed”, and beating the previous record of 78 feet by just 2 feet, held by legendary big wave surfer Garrett McNamara on a wave also ridden in Nazaré back in 2011. This wave was part of a 4 waves monster Set, nicknamed the "Super Set”, which came through the shores of Nazaré during the famous “Big Wednesday” back in November and was one of the biggest days in recent memory. The same day, Andrew Cotton broke his back on a famous wipeout, Andrew also won an award at the same ceremony, the Biggest Wipeout of the year. These huge waves in Nazaré resulted from a heavy Winter Storm in the North Atlantic during the previous week, due to specific characteristics of the ocean floor near Nazaré, which has a giant underwater canyon. The wave size gets amplified by a factor of 3 or 5 times when waves reach the shore, resulting in this phenomenon and creating the biggest waves of the planet, right in front of the famous lighthouse. Koxa’s new world record didn’t come easy. Surfing the biggest waves in the world means enduring the worst wipeouts in the world, and he’s no stranger to the power of Nazaré. Four years ago, he almost lost his life there. “I try to surf big waves all my life and I had a huge experience in 2014 where I almost died at Nazaré,” Koxa said. “For months later, I had bad dreams, I didn’t travel, I got scared, and my wife helped me psychologically. Now, I’m just so happy and this is the best day of my life. Thank you to WSL, it’s a dream come true.” * Watch the complete raw footage of this Super Set (Koxa's Wave is the 3rd of the set): https://youtu.be/Xp21w9WyW4s * Watch Andrew Cotton's Wipeout that broke his back, on the very same day of this World record wave: https://youtu.be/buMIbUPhT_A _________________________ Copyright © 2018, Pedro Miranda, all rights reserved Surfer: Rodrigo Koxa (Brazil) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. ONE OF THE HEAVIEST SURF SESSIONS IN 2018 - PORTUGAL

03:14
Subscribe our channel for privileged content.   On a random day at the studio, Boa Onda team was checking Portugal’s forecast and the conditions for the next day. The swell was good and the wind would be blowing of shore.   Next morning we were ready to test some new shooting gear so we headed to this spot.   The conditions were great and the SPOT was more then scary. You could see the rocks showing up out of the water and the wave´s were breaking below sea level. Surfers caught very few waves because the tide was changing and increasingly dangerous waves. Great conditions, scary waves only two surfers with one jet sky in the water!   No further comments. Why Every Surfer Should Own a Foamy / Softboard no.44 | Compare Surfboards

02:58
Full Write Up: http://bit.ly/SoftechFoamySoftboard Why should every surfer own a foamy / softboard? To surf between the flags of course! This is not a review but a general opinion of foamy surfboards, which are not technical craft. Great for kids. Great for beginner's. Great for surfing the best wave on the beach, which always happens to be in front of the lifesaving flags where normal surfboards are forbidden! In my opinion, selecting the right foam surfboard is simply a matter of colour and size preference. These are not technical craft, nor are they intended to be. This is the Softech Tom Carroll Signature Model foam surfboard review at Benny's Boardroom. Marcelo Luna . Naza Bomb Collection #003 - [Drone] [Big Wave] [Nazaré]

01:28
Spectacular Drone Footage captures Surfer being “eaten alive" by a Monster Wave Incredible drone footage has emerged of an intense carnage sequence in Nazaré involving a Brazilian Surfer, the action was captured earlier this year and just now released by a Portuguese Drone team operating in the area. Marcelo Luna, a 33 years old professional Big Wave Surfer from Brazil, is seen taking on a monster wave in Praia do Norte during a Big Winter Swell, he manages to drop the Huge wave successfully but later he is caught by the monster wave in full force and disappears into the white wash, the drone captures all this sequence at close range and below the crest of the wave. Marcelo took an underwater hold down of many seconds before finally resurfacing with the help of a inflatable vest used in this extreme situations, the rescue team got him out of the impact zone moments after that, Marcelo survived this heavy wipeout just with minor injuries. “This was like being eaten alive by a monster”, Marcelo told the filmmakers after the session was over, “I got lucky not to be directly under the lip of the wave during impact, otherwise this could have been a very different story, the energy of that wave was really intense and held me down for a long time” he added. Marcelo Luna is chasing Giant Waves in Nazaré since 2016, being one of the most active Big Wave Surfers operating in the area lately, with several WSL Big Wave Awards entries under his name, he is a regular presence when conditions go ballistic in Praia do Norte. Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous worldwide for huge waves in 2011, when Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set a world-record for the largest wave ever surfed: 24 meters (78-foot). __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Surfer: Marcelo Luna Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Local Drone team “Máquina Voadora - Produções” captures the wave and the successful rescue from a close angle, flying at very low altitude and almost loosing their drone in the process, the resulting footage is quite overwhelming and spectacular. The Big Ugly - Dramatic Rescue of a Fallen Big Wave Surfer - #Drone - Nazaré, Portugal

03:24
Brazilian professional surfer Pedro “Scooby” Vianna takes an epic spill from his board during a storm in Nazaré, Portugal. By February 28, Scooby was tearing down the tide at 45 miles an hour on his rattling surfboard. There was a 70-foot mountain of water avalanching behind him. The seething spume nipped him from behind and sent him bombing into the fray in a violent back flop. Scooby’s friend and fellow Brazilian, Lucas "Chumbo" Chianca, rode in on a jet ski to pick him up before the next monster set rolled in. Scooby grabbed ahold of a rear tow board latched to the jet ski, and they sped away in an attempt to outrun the next wave. Chumbo soon lost control in the choppy whitewater, and the jet ski capsized near some dangerous rocks. Another massive wave was right behind them. Two people now needed a rescue. How did Scooby and Chumbo finally escape the chaos? Everaldo "Pato" Teixeira, a veteran big wave surfer from Brazil, tore in on yet another jet ski. In a deft and coolheaded rescue bolstered by years of experience, Teixeira rescued Chumbo and Scooby, both of whom were relatively unscathed. This episode ended well and became one of the main highlights of the Big Wave Season, the drone video went viral after it was used on a Red Bull Production and later licensed to National Geographic, reaching 20 million views in few days, dozens of media outlets picked up the story, the footage is currently being licensed for several feature documentaries across the globe, and is now perhaps the most viewed piece of footage of Nazaré. ** "The Big Ugly" was an Official Nominee for the Los Angeles Drone Film Festival 2017 edition, featured on VICE/Motherboard. *** UPDATE (Dec 3, 2017): "The Big Ugly" is the Winner of the "News & Documentary" Award on the #LADFF Los Angeles Drone Film Festival 2017 edition *** UPDATE (Mar 3, 2018): "The Big Ugly" is the Winner of the "News & Documentary" Award on the #NYCDFF New York City Drone Film Festival 2018 edition __________________________ Copyright © 2017, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Filmed and Edited by: Máquina Voadora Featured Surfers: Pedro Scooby, Lucas Chumbo, Everaldo Pato Teixeira Music: "Drive" by Ross Bugden (https://youtu.be/3pZdZiPnsGs) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. The One That Got Away - Nazaré [Drone] [Big Wave]

01:01
A Surfer briefly hesitates and decides not to charge a wave in Nazaré, Portugal, during the infamous monster Swell of November 8, 2017, otherwise known as the “Big Wednesday”. This Drone Footage was captured just minutes before British Big Wave surfer Andrew Cotton caught the famous wave that broke his back and ultimately sent him to the Hospital. The wave on this video was recorded as one of the Biggest of the Session, and the surfer probably did the right thing as it would be difficult to outrun this specific wave and ride it successfully, a rescue would've been extremely difficult on that specific area of Praia do Norte. “The Big Wednesday”, November 8, 2017 is still the Biggest day on record during the current big wave season in Portugal, it is expected that other major swells will hit the coast of Portugal before the season ends in mid March 2018. Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous for huge waves since Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set a then record in 2011 for the largest wave ever surfed when he rode a 78-foot wave. Since then, the place has attracted many daredevils from a great variety of extreme sports. __________________________ Copyright © 2017, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Music: NCM Epic Music Ender Guney (https://youtu.be/ICQhNhJOYog) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Wipeout . Thiago Jacaré . Raw Footage @ Nazaré, Portugal - 2018.12.14 [Surf, Big Waves, 4K]

04:42
This raw footage shows Brazilian Big Wave Surfer, Thiago Jacaré (35 ys old), charging into the first wave of a big set in Nazaré during yesterday’s monster swell. Thiago manages to ride the wave until a bump makes him fall of his board and he gets immediately swallowed by a wall of white water, suffering an extensive hold down before resurfacing just in time to catch a quick breath, just before the next wave impact. His team mate, Big Wave Surfer David Langer, first attempts to rescue him with his jetski, but there’s no window of opportunity during the next waves of the set. Thiago ends up taking with a total of 5 waves on the head (including the first wave) before he gets rescued by German Big Wave Surfer Sebastian Steudtner, in a moment where all teams in the water were requested to help with this rescue. Thiago was safely taken to the beach, where a paramedic team was already expecting him with full support. Thiago managed to survive this incident without a scratch, although he was completely exhausted when he got to the beach, and he was immobilised and taken in by an ambulance, as safety measure. Later on that same day, Thiago gave the following statement to the filmmaker who captured this footage: “This was by far the worst wipeout of my life, I barely got the chance to breath between waves, when I got to the sand I was completely exhausted, to the point I couldn’t even move” (…) “I want to thank Sebastian Steudtner for the rescue and David Langer for the tow, I won't ever forget this day!”. Wipeout . Russell Bierke . Raw Footage @ Nazaré, Portugal - 2018.11.07 [Surf, Big Waves, 4K]

03:13
This raw footage shows Australian Big Wave Surfer, Russell Bierke (21 ys old), charging one of the biggest waves of the day on the first peak at Nazaré during yesterday’s monster swell. Bierke’s manages to ride the most critical part of the wave but wipes out after the massive water explosion behind him, suffering an extensive hold down before resurfacing just in time to catch a quick breath before the next wave impact. The following rescue is performed by award wining Big Wave Surfer Lucas "Chumbo" Chianca from Brazil, riding a jetski Lucas is able to help Russell until he reaches the safety of the sand. This sequence was the main highlight of the day, during the biggest session of the season so far, with waves exceeding 60 ft on the face. Bierke with an extensive experience in heavy waves and nasty wipeouts gave the following statement to filmmaker Pedro Miranda who captured this footage: “this was by far my longest hold down ever! I barely got a breath before the second wave landed on me. Felling pretty sore today, got a good whiplash when I skipped in front of the wave, but no injuries which is good” (…) “Felt like I could barely walk up the beach when Igot there”. Russell Bierke is one of the most respected young talents in the Big Wave Surfing world, he won the mythical “Red Bull Cape Fear”in 2016 with just 19 ys old, one of the most extreme and dangerous events in the sport. This was the first time Bierke surfed the infamous giant waves of Nazaré in Portugal, the locals applauded his “go for it" attitude after this wave, joking with “Welcome to Naza, Russell Bierke!”, since it’s kind of a tradition Big Wave surfers to get a huge beating during their first session in Nazaré, usually regarded as a good luck sign. Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous worldwide for huge waves in 2011, when Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set a world-record for the largest wave ever surfed at 78-foot at the time, in 2017 that record was broken by Brazilian surfer Rodrigo Koxa, setting the bar at 80-foot. __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Pedro Miranda, all rights reserved Surfer: Russell Bierke (AUS) Jet Ski: Lucas Chumbo Chianca (BRZ) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal Date: 2018.Nov.07 __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Gigantic Wave: Andrey Karr @ Nazaré, Portugal - 2018.12.14 [Surf, Big Waves, 4K]

01:30
“This was by far, the Biggest Wave ever surfed by a Russian" Russian Big Wave Surfer Andrey Karr, 31 years old, rode a giant monster wave in Portugal's Nazaré during the recent giant swell of December 14th, as footage continues to emerge. Locals described this wave as one of the biggest “bombs” of the day along with Tom Butler’s wave in what is by now the biggest swell of the season. English press is already calling for a new world record on a wave ridden that same day by British Surfer Tom Butler, something that is always very speculative at this point as the record is unlikely to be confirmed until WSL Big Wave Awards, which take place in April 2019. Pedro Miranda, the Filmaker who captured footage of both waves said on a statement to the press: “This was by far, the biggest wave ever surfed by a Russian, no doubt about it” (...) “I Don’t like to go into this world record claims and premature measuring contests, size will be officially measured in April 2019 after proper analysed by the WSL with all the angles” (…) “one thing I’m sure is that this was the biggest day of the season (so far), and the biggest waves of the day were Tom Butler’s and Andrey Karr’s, I can’t put a measure on each one, but at it’s peak both waves are not that different in size” (...) “Andrey is one of the most radical guys I know, he’s been coming to Nazaré for 3 consecutive Winters and the guy has a very committed attitude, he’s hardcore! I’m really happy for him getting a proper monster bomb here at Nazaré, he totally deserves and I’m sure he’ll shake things up in Russia as they are now well represented in the Big Wave War Race”. Andrey Karr was teaming up with American Big Wave surfer Toby Cunningham who towed him into this monster wave, Toby was contacted by Miranda, the filmmaker who shot this footage and had the following statement "I saw that wave a long way out and saw it dredging off the ledge and made sure I gave Andrey the speed he needed to get down the face. While chasing him on the shoulder I got to see it barrel so large that I could see the lighthouse for a split second through the Barrel. I picked him up the second he kicked out of the wave.” Andrey Karr, 31 years old from Moscow, Russia, is a Professional Big Wave Surfer that first came to Nazaré in the pursuit of big waves 3 years ago, Karr is also an experienced charger in many radical sports such Base Jumping, Wingsuit flying, High Lining, Speedflying, commonly described as a Poly Extreme Athlete. __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Pedro Miranda, all rights reserved Surfer: Andrey Karr (RU) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal Date: 2018.Dec.14 __________________________ Related Videos: - Tom Butler’s Gigantic Wave: https://youtu.be/-ucBfEDVJbA - Thiago Jacaré Wipeout: https://youtu.be/LrNcrwHERpc - Rodrigo Koxa’s Word Record: https://youtu.be/u_q9VI7pDqU __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. This is Your First Shortboard-Learners Shortboard Review-Learn To Surf. Many of you have asked what is a good first 'shortboard' to transition to after learning to surf with a mini-mal, longboard or fun board. Learning to surf is hard and I personally think you should go for something forgiving as the transition down to this style of board is challenging. Go a little longer, look for a more generous outline (slightly wider in the tip and tail), find something with little/flattish rocker and nice, full, forgiving rails. Gigantic Wave: Tom Butler @ Nazaré, Portugal - 2018.12.14 [Surf, Big Waves, 4K]

01:26
British Big Wave Surfer Tom Butler, 29 years old, rode a spectacular monster wave in Portugal's Nazaré during the recent giant swell of December 14th, as footage continues to emerge. Locals described this wave as the biggest “bomb” of the day in what was the biggest swell of the season. English press is calling this the new world record, onlookers and some surfing experts have said he had beaten the previous record of 80ft - set in November 2017 by Brazilian Rodrigo Koxa. The record is unlikely to be confirmed until WSL Big Wave Awards, which take place in April 2019. Pedro Miranda, the Filmaker who captured this footage said on a statement to the press: “this is tricky, Tommy is a very tall guy, measuring 6ft 2inch any wave ridden by him will always look way smaller than it really is, not calling this a world record because I don’t like to go into speculation, but whatever measure you think it is, the wave will be way bigger after analysed by the WSL experts” (…) “just put there any other (smaller) guy, with a few inches of diference the wave would look way bigger” (…) “This wave will most likely win the WSL Big Wave Awards this season, still a lot of Winter ahead but the bar has been set high by Tommy, really glad for him since he is one of the most experienced Big Wave riders I know and he totally deserves it!” Tom Butler was teaming up with German Big Wave Surfer Sebastian Steudtner who towed him into this monster wave, also on his team was Brazilian Record Holder Maya Gabeira that just rode the Biggest Wave ever ridden by a Women during last season. __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Pedro Miranda, all rights reserved Surfer: Tom Butler (UK) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal Date: 2018.Dec.14 __________________________ Related Videos: Andrey Karr's Gigantic Wave (same day): https://youtu.be/PZg8Bu0AMKY Thiago Jacaré's Wipeout (same day): https://youtu.be/LrNcrwHERpc Rodrigo Koxa's World Record: https://youtu.be/u_q9VI7pDqU Andrew Cotton's 2017 Wipeout of the Year: https://youtu.be/buMIbUPhT_A Russell Bierke’s Wipeout on Nov 7th 2018: https://youtu.be/3T0yayo7mAU Andrew Cotton’s 2016 Wipeout & Jetski Crash: https://youtu.be/W9mG-atemFE __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. BIGGEST WAVE ever ridden by 2 Surfers - Nazaré, Portugal // 2017

02:46
"As Seen on Time Magazine, National Geographic and the Daily Mail" Remarkable footage of two surfers simultaneously riding a giant wave during the first big swell of the winter season in Nazaré, Portugal. The video, captured by Portuguese videographer Pedro Miranda on October 21 off Praia do Norte, shows Brazilians Carlos Burle and Rodrigo Koxa performing a rare "double ride" on a gigantic wave. ''During the session, which was stormy and uncommonly dangerous, the Brazilian surfers had the chance to do something that doesn’t happen very often, especially in Nazaré: to share one of the biggest waves of the day,'' the filmer later wrote online. ''Carlos Burle, caught the wave first, and Rodrigo Koxa a few seconds later. They were both fully committed, which means that after realising they were both on the wave, they could not exit it,'' he added, describing their accidental "double ride" of the same enormous wave. Axi Muniain . Naza Bomb Collection #001- [Drone] [Big Wave] [Nazaré]

Professional Big Wave Surfer, Axi Muniain catches one of the Biggest Waves of the day during a recent Giant Swell in Praia do Norte, Nazaré Portugal. Local Drone team “Máquina Voadora - Produções” captures the wave and the successful rescue from a close angle, flying at very low altitude, the resulting footage is quite dramatic yet spectacular. Axi Muniain, 35 years old, is a Big Wave Surfer and professional adventurer-explorer, from the Basque Country and one of the top European Big Riders of the moment. Axi has been chasing giant swells around the globe for over 10 years, yet he’s making a strong name in Nazaré, one of the most difficult big wave spots in the world. The wave on this video was one of the main highlights of the day. This swell originated from a North Atlantic storm and produced some of the biggest and heaviest waves the town has seen in years, reaching the 80ft mark on Thursday, January 18th, 2018. Some of the biggest names in Big Wave Surfing have descent on Praia do Norte, in Nazaré - off the coast of Portugal, to ride the Biggest Swell since 2014. Locals already call the day “The Big Thursday”, the same name given to the infamous swell of 2014, also on a Thursday. Benjamin Sanchis, Ross Clarke-Jones, Sebastian Steudtner, Maya Gabeira, Hugo Vau, Alex Botelho, Marcelo Luna, Axi Munian, Andrey Karr, João Guedes, Roland Pierre and many other Professional Big Wave Surfers were in the water, several monster waves were ridden that most likely will end up nominated for the WSL Big Wave Awards, as footage continues to be released. World record waves around 100ft (30m) rogue waves, largest waves world record Biggest wave in the world Large wave, swell storm tsunami, code, red, jaws, teahupoo Big wave surfing is the ultimate celebration of extreme surfing. Challenging deadly waves in harsh weather and ocean conditions takes a very serious approach. Big wave surfers are not interested in performance. Forget perfect cutbacks, stunning floaters or breathless aerial antics. The profile of a big wave rider is the result of several unparalleled personal characteristics. Fear is always present in a 50-foot wave. Fear is the best way of managing the risk of paddling for a huge wave face, which doesn't tell you what is going to happen and how it is going to break. Monster waves tend to move quickly and force surfers to get away of the powerful whitewater. Big waves are lethal even for the most experienced extreme riders. The best big wave surf spots in the world have claimed several lives in the last decades. Laird Hamilton is the first professional big wave surfer. The waterman from Maui defies fast, hollow and high waves with a full-time training and previous preparation. Hamilton, the father of tow-in surfing, takes on the entire big wave spots of the Hawaiian Islands, in helicopter style. Garrett McNamara is one of the toughest big wave challengers. After riding a spectacular 78-foot wave in Nazaré, Portugal, the Hawaiian waterman entered the Guinness World Records with the biggest wave ever surfed. The 55 best big wave surfers of all time is an exclusive extreme surfing club. From Jaws to Mavericks, Puerto Escondido, Punta Lobos, Ghost Trees, Belharra, Shipstern Bluff and Todos Santos, these riders have set up a new scale in the definition of giant waves. Carlos Alberto Burle Filho ( Recife , 9 of November of 1967 ) is a surfer Brazilian , the most renowned of the country today. You can go back to the Guinness Book with the biggest wave surfing on the planet beating the 30m mark of American Garrett McNamara in Nazaré, Portugal. World Champion in Giant Waves, Burle caught the eye of the world in November 2001 in Mavericks , Calif. , When he surfed the biggest wave ever recorded so far, at 68 feet (22 meters). But this feat was only possible thanks to Tow-in , a mode introduced to surfing. For this, Burle had the experience of another big rider (giant wave surfer) to tow him, also the Pernambuco Eraldo Gueiros. https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Burle Robert Staunton Naish (born April 23, 1963 in La Jolla, San Diego, California) is one of the first athletes to have gained long-lasting international fame in the sport of windsurfing. At a young age, his father, competitive surfer and surfboard shaper Rick Naish, moved the family from California to Kailua, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It was there, at the age of 11, that Robby took up the fledgling new sport of windsurfing. Shortly thereafter, in 1976, he won his first overall World Championship title, at the age of 13. As an international sports celebrity, Naish has been featured in numerous films, videos, news reports, and articles. As of 2006, thirty years after his first World Champion title, popular lines of sailboards, sails, and kitesurfing equipment are marketed worldwide under the Naish name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_Naish Al Mennie Anthony Tashnick Ben Wilkinson Bob Pike Brock Little Buzzy Trent Carlos Burle Chris Bertish Danilo Couto Darrick Doerner Darryl Virostko Dave Kalama Dave Wassel Gabriel Villaran Garrett McNamara George Downing Brad Gerlach Gerry Lopez Grant Twiggy Baker Grant Washburn Greg Long Greg Noll Ian Walsh Jamie Sterling jason polakow Jay Moriarty Jeff Clark Jeff Rowley Jose Angel João de Macedo Kai Lenny Kai Barger Keala Kennely Ken Bradshaw Ken Colllins Koby Abberton Kohl Christensen Laird Hamilton Laurie Towner Mark Foo Mark Healey Mark Mathews Mark Visser Maya Gabeira Mercedes benz Mike Parsons Nathan Fletcher Pat Curren Peter Mel Ramon Navarro Robby Naish Richie Fitzgerald Ross Clarke-Jones Sebastian Steudtner Shane Dorian Sion Milosky Zach Wormhoudt $$$ huhi tsm windsurfing skt 🚫 If you have any problem with copyright issues, or question please do not report me, take your time to contact us via mail, and we will response within 48h - 💌 [email protected] 💌 c9

Andrew Cotton's BIGGEST WIPEOUT of the Year - WSL Big Wave Awards Winner 2017/2018

02:56
November 8, 2017 - Nazaré, Portugal Professional Big Wave Surfer, Andrew Cotton (UK), suffered a horrific wipeout during a Big Wave Session in Praia do Norte in Portugal, and was taken to the Hospital, after hurting his back. This exclusive footage shows the wave and the moment Cotton is catapulted into the air, and the all aftermath until he is moved to the Ambulance. Cotton caught a monster wave, and successfully rode it till the end. When the wave closed out, Cotton jumped from his board and was then projected into the air several meters high by the huge white water explosion. After the huge wipeout and after being held down underwater for many seconds, Cotton was hit by another wave on the head before being rescued by his partner professional Big Wave Surfer, Hugo Vau. During the rescue operation, the jetski was flipped by another wave, and both Cotton and Vau had to swim to the beach. A Medical Team on site promptly attended Andrew Cotton soon as he got to the beach. At this moment cotty was with pain on his back, so they immobilised him as a precautionary measure. He was then taken by Ambulance a few minutes later to the Hospital. According to filmmaker Pedro Miranda who shot this video, "he broke his back but is stable and recovering good and has no further damage, except being away from the water for maybe 3 months. We all wish him the best and a fast recovery, this was by far the gnarliest wipeout of the Season, stoked that Cotty is recovering”, the filmer said. Also, Cotton posted a little update from his hospital bed later at night: “Thanks to everyone who helped this morning,” he said. “Everyone was really calm, you guys really saved my back, which unfortunately is broken but definitely could be worse, so thank you.” Andrew Cotton is Britain's most notorious Big Wave Surfer, one of Nazaré's first pioneers along with his team mate Garrett McNamara. Cotton has been consistently surfing giant waves in Nazaré since the beginning 6-7 years ago and was previously nominated for the WSL Big Wave Awards with a wave caught in Nazaré. * (Update 2018.04.05 - This video has been nominated for "Wipeout of the Year" in the 2017/18 WSL Big Wave Awards) * (Update 2018.04.28 - This video won the "Wipeout of the Year" Award in the 2017/18 WSL Big Wave Awards) _________________________ Copyright © 2017, Pedro Miranda, all rights reserved Filmed and Edited by: Pedro Miranda Featured Surfers: Andrew Cotton, Hugo Vau Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Double Trouble - Big Wave & Dramatic Aftermath Sequence #Drone - Nazaré, Portugal

03:20
Action starts with Portuguese Professional Big Wave Surfer Alex Botelho paddling into a huge wave in Nazaré, Portugal, during the infamous session of February 16, 2018, which was one of the last Big Wave sessions of a long Winter Season in Praia do Norte. As Alex attempts to drop a huge wave, he falls off his board in a nasty wipeout, takes a ton of water on his head and loses his surfboard in the process. He manages to come to the surface quickly, but the next wave is already approaching, making it impossible for his team mate and professional Big Wave Surfer Hugo Vau, on the jetski, to pick him up. Alex now has to duck dive this huge wall of water before a rescue attempt is possible. After the two first waves, Hugo Vau is finally able to rescue Alex with the jetski, and they now rush to the inside zone of Praia do Norte to find Alex’s surfboard. They need it before they can go back to the outside to catch more waves. The Inside area of Praia do Norte is the most dangerous spot on the beach: waves can be unpredictable and terribly thick, the foamy white water makes it very difficult to manoeuvre the jet skis, and that's where most accidents happen. When they finally find the surfboard, a rogue wave capsizes the jetski and both Hugo and Alex get dragged in different directions. Hugo finds himself relatively near the jet ski and tries to regain control as fast as he can, another huge wave approaches, and Hugo makes a decision that may have saved his life: he aborts the attempt to jump on the jetski and dives as deep as he can. A wise decision because the next wave breaks directly on top of the jetski and he most probably wouldn’t have survived the impact. The action continues in the Inside, where Alex tries to regain control of the jet ski and once again things get complicated. At the end, the jetski gets to the sand, and both Hugo and Alex manage to get to dry land, unharmed. Against all odds, the jetski also ends with minor damages. Praia do Norte is incredibly dangerous at any size. The day this action took place was not the biggest of the season, yet, things can get really threatening, even with the most experienced watermen involved. Hugo Vau and Alex Botelho are no strangers to Nazaré, they are among the most skilled watermen in the world with many years of experience in Praia do Norte. Hugo Vau, 40 years old, is one of the first pioneers of Big Wave Surfing in Nazaré. He’s been part of Garrett McNamara’s team since the beginning of Nazaré's first explorations back in 2010. Hugo has been nominated for the WSL Biggest Wave Award several times, and has under his belt some of the biggest waves ever ridden on this beach. Alex Botelho, 27 years old, is currently the only Portuguese running on the WSL Big Wave Tour, amongst an elite crew that includes the best and most respected big wave surfers worldwide. Recently, Alex has been a standout among the Big Wave international scene, he has successfully paddled some of the most critical waves of the season, across all Continents. Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous worldwide for huge waves in 2011, when Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set a world-record for the largest wave ever surfed: 24 meters (78-foot). __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Filmed and Edited by: Máquina Voadora Featured Surfers: Alex Botelho & Hugo Vau Music: “God of War" by NCM Ender Guney (https://youtu.be/d6WlTTsGons) Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Then winter came.....and I had to wait. The video is all live, I used a personal recording device and taped it to my back for the audio. While surfing behind a boat, the engine is so loud that you can't hear your self singing and playing guitar, so this is me guessing notes and the tempo of the tune. Andy Davis: Life In Color

03:51
A conversation on style and creative stoke with the SoCal artist A surfer in an Andy Davis painting usually shows just enough face, trimming down the line, or maybe surfed-out and swinging in a hammock, brim of the hat tipped low, to show…who? You. Me. The featureless subjects in Davis’ works are any one of us, a connection drawn from one of Davis’ inspirations, John Severson, whose opening line in the first issue of The Surfer, like an unmarked face, was both a faraway and personal call: “In this crowded world, the surfer can still seek and find the perfect day, the perfect wave, and be alone with the surf and his thoughts.” “My biggest influence in the surfing world with [my art] was John Severson,” says Davis. “Making films, and then starting [SURFER] magazine, shooting the photos, writing the articles, doing the illustrations — It was so insane. That’s where it all came about for me, along with watching a lot of old films, looking at a lot of photography.” Davis just began a month-long exhibition, Eye Yi Yi, in Malibu’s Trancas Country Market, through July 1st. For those who know his work, the show is an artistic departure. There are no waves, no boards involved. For Davis, these subjects still derive their spirit from surfing, set in acrylic scenes that flit with movement, energy, and flow. If you surf, he says, you can see it. Even if you don’t surf, you’re pulled toward the grace of the image, a subject’s dance in a summer sun’s light. “Andy’s art exemplifies surf stoke more clearly than anyone else’s,” artist Thomas Campbell says about Davis. “I think that’s why people identify with his work. Looking at a lineup from the top of a hill or observing some faceless humanoid simply getting tubed from a cool, non-invasive perspective. That’s what surfing is about, not all banners and bullshit.” We spent an afternoon with Davis in Malibu, where he and artist Randall Christopher were busy with the final preparations for the show’s opening reception in late May. He spoke candidly about his evolution as an artist, his creative process, and his response to the emotion produced through his work. “It’s pretty neat to feel like you made something that meant something to someone,” says Davis. “That they’re happy you made it, and that it took them out of their day to day, and they appreciate it. That it touched them in some way. It reminds them of something. It makes you feel pretty lucky that you got to do something that went beyond what you thought it was going to be.” Go to Surfer.com for the latest daily videos, photos, stories, news and more: http://www.surfer.com/ Like Surfer on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/surfer Latest photos and breaking news on https://www.instagram.com/surfer_maga... Dating Is Like Surfing

28:24
Some interesting metaphors on how understanding surfing and how good surfers handle waves and unpredictable ocean conditions, can help you navigate the dating world, improve your dating skills and become a master dater and seducer. In this video coaching newsletter, I discuss an email from a viewer who is an avid and experienced surfer. He shares a list of dating situations and how they metaphorically match up to how a good surfer navigates and experiences waves. He has noticed that when things are going well in his life, he does much better at surfing, and when things are not going well in his life that he tends to struggle and not do very well when surfing. He shares how becoming great at all aspects of surfing like knowing which waves to ride and which ones to pass on, is also similar to the process of pickup, dating, seduction and relationships. I discuss his email and review some basic fundamentals of improving your pickup, dating and relationship skills so you can improve your chances of romantic success. “What do most successful people have in common that separates and differentiates them from unsuccessful people? Successful people tend to excel at getting other people to like them. We tend to like people who make us feel good, who make us feel like they care about us, who make us laugh, who are optimistic and who have a strong sense of who they are, where they are going and why they are going there. Successful people focus on becoming a person of value in both their professional and personal lives. Successful people know things that the average person does not. To become a person of value you must focus on becoming great at doing something you love for a living, and becoming knowledgeable and competent at things you enjoy doing simply for fun. People who are able to accomplish both their personal and professional goals, tend to be happier, uplifting and more fun to be around than those who always feel like they are behind the eight ball and struggling.” ~ Coach Corey Wayne Click the link below to make a donation via PayPal to support my work: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=LKGTSSLYJ93J6 Click the link below to book phone/Skype or email coaching with me personally: http://www.understandingrelationships.com/products Click the link below to get my Kindle eBook: http://amzn.to/1Uh5djJ Click the link below to read my FREE self-help articles: http://www.understandingrelationships.com/ From my heart to yours, Corey Wayne

Big Wave Wipeout and Jetski Rescue gone wrong @ Nazaré, Portugal [Andrew Cotton & Hugo Vau]

01:58
As seen on the news: A terrifying video has emerged from Portugal of British surfer Andrew Cotton crashing in giant waves and the failed attempt to rescue him. In the clip, which was filmed in Nazare last month on December 17, 2016, Cotton rides a huge wave but falls as the white water catches up with him. A rescue jet ski, driven by his team partner and professional surfer Hugo Vau, struggles to find Cotton in the mass of white water and Cotton is forced to duck under another monster wave. Eventually Vau finds Cotton but as he's preparing to drive them out of danger, a third enormous wave crashes into them, capsizing the jet ski and knocking both men into the water. Luckily the surfers were able to swim to safety and no serious injuries were reported. _________________________ Filmed and Edited by: Pedro Miranda Featured Surfers: Andrew Cotton and Hugo Vau http://www.plmiranda.com http://fb.com/plmirandaphoto @plmiranda on Instagram __________________________ The footage in this video is being managed by Newsflare. Laird Hamilton is the first professional big wave surfer. The waterman from Maui defies fast, hollow and high waves with a full-time training and previous preparation. Hamilton, the father of tow-in surfing, takes on the entire big wave spots of the Hawaiian Islands, in helicopter style. https://www.instagram.com/lairdhamiltonsurf/ https://twitter.com/lairdlife https://lairdsuperfood.com/ https://www.facebook.com/LairdLife/ Garrett McNamara is one of the toughest big wave challengers. After riding a spectacular 78-foot wave in Nazaré, Portugal, the Hawaiian waterman entered the Guinness World Records with the biggest wave ever surfed. https://www.instagram.com/mcnamara_s/ The 55 best big wave surfers of all time is an exclusive extreme surfing club. For this, Burle had the experience of another big rider (giant wave surfer) to tow him, also the Pernambuco Eraldo Gueiros. https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Burle https://www.facebook.com/carlosburle Kai Lenny is a big wave surfer, stand-up paddle surfer and racer, surfer, tow-in surfer, windsurfer, kitesurfer and celebrity watersports enthusiast. João Guedes . Naza Wipeout Collection #002 [Drone] [Big Wave] [Nazaré]

01:10
The footage shows Portuguese Big Wave Surfer, João Guedes paddling into a big one during last Tuesday's session in Praia do Norte, Nazaré, during what was the first solid swell of the season. The wave was sort of bumpy and Guedes wipes out taking a direct hit by the white wash wall, the video shows part of the rescue that followed with Guedes being pushed back by the second wave, luckily not bigger than the first one. João Guedes 32 years old, is one of Portugal’s most experienced Big Wave Surfers, he is currently a wildcard for the WSL’s Nazaré Challenge, a contest part of the Big Wave Tour that will take place in Praia do Norte in the next few months during the winter season. __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Big Wave Surfer: João Guedes (PT) Date: 2018-Oct-16 Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Chumbo & Porcella . Naza Wipeout Collection #003 [Drone] [Big Wave] [Nazaré]

01:39
This wave, this moment and these 2 surfers in particular have redefined Big Wave Surfing in so many ways. Back in 2016, few days after the first edition of the WSL Big Wave Tour event in Nazaré (Nazaré Challenge), professional surfers Lucas Chumbo and Francisco Porcella, both charged into this bomb, full committed they ended up in a major wipeout. After this day that we all called “The Heavy Thursday", the dynamics of paddling in Nazaré have totally changed, boundaries were broken. As for Lucas Chumbo, he was nominated for WSL Biggest Paddle Award with this wave (didn’t won) but won the WSL Performance Award the next Year and the second edition of the WSL Nazaré Challenge this year, Francisco Porcella won the WSL Biggest Wave Award that same season with a wave caught just a few months later right here in Nazaré during the Big Ugly Swell. For us as drone producers, we were stoked to have captured this historic moment from a such close distance, our drone nearly got caught and for a long time we’ve considered this one of our best shots. __________________________ Copyright © 2018, Máquina Voadora, all rights reserved Big Wave Surfer: Lucas “Chumbo” Chianca (BRZ) Big Wave Surfer: Francisco Porcella (US/IT) Date: 2016-Dez-22 Location: Praia do Norte, Nazaré - Portugal “Máquina Voadora - Produções” is a Drone Production team based in Portugal and specialised in Surf/Action Footage for the Advertising Industry, Sports Productions, News and Feature Documentaries. __________________________ The footage in this video is protected by copyright. Surfing Dayton at Flood Stage

01:24
This was a fun eventful day, surfing downtown dayton at 31ft, 21,000cfs. During my last surf, I saw all the fire trucks, rescue, metroparks rangers, and police cars on the bridge and street as I was going into the wave. I kept tapping top of my helmet (signaling im fine) and dont need rescue before dropping in as well as when I washed off and paddled back to river right. Id like to point out I had a PFD, leash with quick release, helmet and any debri in the water was far on the other side due to the bend in the river. Below the feature there was no strainers or boils to pull at me. It was an exhausting longer swim but very minimal risk. To read more about this story, sure you can find some of the news articles.

Matt Biolos, My Quiver Pt.2, Lost V3 Rocket - no.102 | Compare Surfboards

03:34
In Part 1 of our 4 Part Matt Biolos Quiver Extravaganza, Matt shared his new small wave model, the ...Lost Puddle Jumper. This week, he talks about the all powerful Lost V3 Rocket, a personal favourite of mine and many other surfers. The V3 Rocket is so well rounded and covers such an amazing wave range, I rarely feel like I'm compromising when I ride it...every surfer should have a Lost Rocket in their quiver! Subscribe now so you don't miss out on the next installment of Matt Biolos' current 'Go To' quiver! -------------- If it's not obvious from the reviews on the Benny's Boardroom show and at CompareSurfboards.com, I'm a Matt Biolos fan. I've had great success surfing most ...Lost surfboards I've owned over the years. Biolos seemed to catch on early to the fact that the thin potato chip style high performance shortboard just doesn't cut it for a lot of regular surfers and many of his designs are geared to catch lots of waves and have fun while still maintaining performance. Here Matt talks through his current go to quiver (as at Oct. 2014). I am jealous and tried to sneak out with the three I hadn't already ridden... Enjoy! Lost V3 Stealth Surfboard Review | Compare Surfboards

08:35
Based off the global-everyday-surfer-favourite, the Lost V3 Rocket, this is the Lost V3 Stealth Surfboard Review for CompareSurfboards.com! + Get This (and all) Ex Demo Surfboards HERE: https://bennysboardroom.com.au/collections/surf-surfboards-ex-demo-surfboards Built around a more traditional high performance shortboard nose template, my Lost V3 Stealth is 6'2 x 20.75 x 2.69 at 38CL of volume. This design results in a board that blends Lost V3 Rocket design with the quickness, performance and visuals of a standard HPSB shortboard. Technically, Matt Biolos of Lost Surfboards added length and rocker to the nose, and pulled the forward outline in to more closely resemble a modern shortboard nose template. The tail has more pronounced, fluted wings and a more radical “Rocket” diamond at the end. The deeper wings add grip and control by reducing surface area. The flutes help the rail to permeate the surface, as well as reduce the rail volume, for more precise and surface permeating carving. The bottom still contains the V3’s relaxed centerline rocker, for glide and down the line drive, and a healthy amount of concave. The concave adds considerable lift, and creates a hyper curved rail rocker under the rear foot, allowing the surfer to turn freely and precisely when the board is rolled onto a rail. The Lost V3 Stealth offers high speed, wide tail glide for fat faced fun, combined with the ability for fast, vertical, precise pocket surfing...in even marginal conditions. Hope you enjoy this Lost V3 Stealth Surfboard Review for CompareSurfboards.com! Matt Biolos, My Quiver Pt.4, Lost Mini Gun - no.108 | Compare Surfboards

05:37
This is the end. The only end, my friend. But we saved the best for last... Rounding out Matt Biolos' quiver is the Lost Mini Gun. Step up / gun surfboards are a difficult breed of board to order right. In my experience, they're either too pinny to surf like you're accustomed or not capable of handling truly big and powerful waves. Matt 'Mayhem' Biolos shares his insights into what he appreciates in his perfect bigger, better wave board. After recording this, I am sold on this Lost Mini Gun. Another surfboard to add to the review queue when good wave season approaches! To recap the Matt Biolos quiver, from the top: Lost Puddle Jumper (new model) - 5'10 x 21 1/2 x 2 3/4 @ 40L's Lost V3 Rocket - 6'1 x 21 1/2 x 2 7/8 @ 42L's Lost Sub Scorcher Two - 6'4 x 21 x 2 7/8 @ 41L's Lost Mini Gun - 6'10 x 20 1/2 x 3 @43L's I hope you enjoyed watching this series as much as I enjoyed filming it. Great insights into a well rounded quiver by a master of foam and resin, Matt Biolos, Founder & Co-Owner of ...Lost Surfboards.
