Steve Jobs' amazing marketing strategy - MUST WATCH

07:08
Steve Jobs shares his amazingly different approach to marketing and how he used it to build Apple into one of the largest companies in the world. * Join my BELIEVE newsletter: http://www.evancarmichael.com/newsletter/ Transcript: To me….marketing is about values. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. What is MARKETING STRATEGY? What does MARKETING STRATEGY mean?

03:30
What is MARKETING STRATEGY? What does MARKETING STRATEGY mean? Marketing strategy has the fundamental goal of increasing sales and achieving a sustainable competitive advantage. Marketing strategy includes all basic, short-term, and long-term activities in the field of marketing that deal with the analysis of the strategic initial situation of a company and the formulation, evaluation and selection of market-oriented strategies and therefore contribute to the goals of the company and its marketing objectives. The process usually begins with a scan of the business environment, both internal and external, which includes understanding strategic constraints. It is generally necessary to try to grasp many aspects of the external environment, including technological, economic, cultural, political and legal aspects. Goals are chosen. Then, a marketing strategy or marketing plan is an explanation of what specific actions will be taken over time to achieve the objectives. Plans can be extended to cover many years, with sub-plans for each year, although as the speed of change in the merchandising environment quickens, time horizons are becoming shorter. Ideally, strategies are both dynamic and interactive, partially planned and partially unplanned, to enable a firm to react to unforeseen developments while trying to keep focused on a specific pathway; generally, a longer time frame is preferred. There are simulations such as customer lifetime value models which can help marketers conduct "what-if" analyses to forecast what might happen based on possible actions, and gauge how specific actions might affect such variables as the revenue-per-customer and the churn rate. Strategies often specify how to adjust the marketing mix; firms can use tools such as Marketing Mix Modeling to help them decide how to allocate scarce resources for different media, as well as how to allocate funds across a portfolio of brands. In addition, firms can conduct analyses of performance, customer analysis, competitor analysis, and target market analysis. A key aspect of marketing strategy is often to keep marketing consistent with a company's overarching mission statement. Marketing strategy should not be confused with a marketing objective or mission. For example, a goal may be to become the market leader, perhaps in a specific niche; a mission may be something along the lines of "to serve customers with honor and dignity"; in contrast, a marketing strategy describes how a firm will achieve the stated goal in a way which is consistent with the mission, perhaps by detailed plans for how it might build a referral network, for example. Strategy varies by type of market. A well-established firm in a mature market will likely have a different strategy than a start-up. Plans usually involve monitoring, to assess progress, and prepare for contingencies if problems arise.

5 Key Qualities of a Network Marketing Leader

03:44
5 Key Qualities of a Network Marketing Leader Summary There are 5 qualities that I want to have in a leader who I am going to work with: 1. Confidence 2. Capable 3. Committed 4. Coachable 5. Good Communicator What do I mean by capable? I mean that when you send them a welcome email or package, they don’t ask you a question because they actually read it! And then they sign somebody up all by themselves. That is capable. They’re committed when things are going poorly, and they’re still there. They are still showing up on leadership calls, attending months, and month after month, they are in it. People don’t have to recreate everything all by themselves. They just need to be willing to watch other people and be coached. So, who do you want to work with? The key to great leadership is being able to communicate expectations, educate, and instill confidence into your team. Watch what other people are doing who are successful. If you want to learn how to communicate, see how other people are successfully doing it. See what’s working and what’s not working. The key to greatness is seeing yourself bigger than you think is possible and trying to achieve it. Market Leader vs Market Challenger - THIS Is How to Remain Market Leader

02:54
What makes the difference between a market leader vs market challenger? It boils down to the concept of Cause/Because thinking: ‘Cause’ thinking allows you to take initiative and be proactive. ‘Because’ thinking is mainly reactive. You can only be a market follower – you never create anything new. If you want to know how to remain market leader in your niche, you need to be seen as a business leader instead of part of the pack. Maintain and grow your market share by transforming your ideas into action. Take control of the situation. Don’t allow a market challenger to blind side you. The definition of a market challenger is the business just below the market leaders. They try harder, competing vigorously for a bigger share of the market. With the endless jockeying for position in the market leader vs market challenger race someone will always get left behind. Adopting the right leadership strategies (‘Cause’ thinking) will help you stay in front of the curve of market trends. You and your team can generate more creative ideas and influence market conditions in your industry, rather than simply chasing after the movers and shakers. Remember - a market follower is likely to fall further and further behind as the leaders innovate. That's not the position you want to be in, is it? If you’re already at the top of your field, ‘Cause’ thinking will give you a game plan on how to remain market leader. It will help you implement your ideas and get things done. Check out my website https://sylviahenderson.com/ for ideas on how develop an approach that encourages you to take effective action and move forward. When the choice is market leader vs market challenger – be a leader. If you need to help in how to remain market leader then please subscribe to my channel for tips, tricks, and strategies that will help you leave the competition in the dust.

How To Become A Market Leader

03:08
In an effort to set themselves apart from their competition, leaders today look for any means possible to attract and keep the attention of their customers.
