10:11
What is a trade deficit? Well, it all has to do with imports and exports and, well, trade. This week Jacob and Adriene walk you through the basics of imports, exports, and exchange. So, you remember the specialization and trade thing, right? So, that leads to imports and exports. Economically, in the aggregate, this is usually a good thing. Globalization and free trade do tend to increase overall wealth. But not everybody wins. Crash Course is on Patreon! The relationship between the Current Account Balance and Exchange Rates

16:16
This lesson will illustrate how trade flows should lead to appreciation and depreciation of currencies in a floating exchange rate system, and then explain how in the case of China, central bank policy aimed at buying large quantities of US government debt keeps the supply of Chinese currency high in the US and the demand for US dollars high in China. This means the dollar remains stronger than it otherwise might relative to the Chinese RMB, contributing to the persistent trade deficits the US exhibits in its trade with China. What is Forex? How Does Forex Work ? | Forex Education And Trading For Beginners

05:03
Forex Trading Education: http://goldenoptiontrading.com/YT What Is Forex? The foreign exchange market is the "place" where currencies are traded. Currencies are important to most people around the world, whether they realize it or not, because currencies need to be exchanged in order to conduct foreign trade and business. If you are living in the U.S. and want to buy cheese from France, either you or the company that you buy the cheese from has to pay the French for the cheese in euros (EUR). This means that the U.S. importer would have to exchange the equivalent value of U.S. dollars (USD) into euros. The same goes for traveling. A French tourist in Egypt can't pay in euros to see the pyramids because it's not the locally accepted currency. As such, the tourist has to exchange the euros for the local currency, in this case the Egyptian pound, at the current exchange rate. The need to exchange currencies is the primary reason why the forex market is the largest, most liquid financial market in the world. It dwarfs other markets in size, even the stock market, with an average traded value of around U.S. $2,000 billion per day. (The total volume changes all the time, but as of August 2012, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) reported that the forex market traded in excess of U.S. $4.9 trillion per day.) One unique aspect of this international market is that there is no central marketplace for foreign exchange. Rather, currency trading is conducted electronically over-the-counter (OTC), which means that all transactions occur via computer networks between traders around the world, rather than on one centralized exchange. The market is open 24 hours a day, five and a half days a week, and currencies are traded worldwide in the major financial centers of London, New York, Tokyo, Zurich, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Singapore, Paris and Sydney - across almost every time zone. This means that when the trading day in the U.S. ends, the forex market begins anew in Tokyo and Hong Kong. As such, the forex market can be extremely active any time of the day, with price quotes changing constantly. Spot Market and the Forwards and Futures Markets There are actually three ways that institutions, corporations and individuals trade forex: the spot market, the forwards market and the futures market. The forex trading in the spot market always has been the largest market because it is the "underlying" real asset that the forwards and futures markets are based on. In the past, the futures market was the most popular venue for traders because it was available to individual investors for a longer period of time. However, with the advent of electronic trading, the spot market has witnessed a huge surge in activity and now surpasses the futures market as the preferred trading market for individual investors and speculators. When people refer to the forex market, they usually are referring to the spot market. The forwards and futures markets tend to be more popular with companies that need to hedge their foreign exchange risks out to a specific date in the future. what is forex trading, how does forex work, is forex trading profitable, forex trading for beginners, forex wiki, forex meaning, forex trading tutorial, best forex trading platform, forex trading training, Trading For Beginners, How Does Forex Work, forex, forex trading, fx, foreign exchange, foreign exchange market, 💰 Copy All Our Live Trades. As such, the tourist has to exchange the euros for the local currency, in this case the Egyptian pound, at the current exchange rate. What is the spot market? More specifically, the spot market is where currencies are bought and sold according to the current price. That price, determined by supply and demand, is a reflection of many things, including current interest rates, economic performance, sentiment towards ongoing political situations (both locally and internationally), as well as the perception of the future performance of one currency against another. When a deal is finalized, this is known as a "spot deal". It is a bilateral transaction by which one party delivers an agreed-upon currency amount to the counter party and receives a specified amount of another currency at the agreed-upon exchange rate value. After a position is closed, the settlement is in cash. Although the spot market is commonly known as one that deals with transactions in the present (rather than the future), these trades actually take two days for settlement. Note that you'll see the terms: FX, forex, foreign-exchange market and currency market. These terms are synonymous and all refer to the forex market.

the relationship between the current account balance and exchange rates of RMB against USD

16:08
A nation's balance of payments measures all economic transactions between that nation's people and the people of all other nations. A country that spends more on imports than it earns from the sale of its exports is said to have a trade deficit. Such imbalances have become controversial topics of debate in political and economic circles, particularly over the last decade as the Chinese economy has emerged as the world's largest exporter. As goods and services flow from one country to another, the exchange rates of those countries' currencies tend to fluctuate to promote balanced trade between the two nations. However, in some cases, most notably China, a country's central bank will intervene in the market for its own currency to manage its exchange rate against that of a trading partner. When such interventions occur, the normal, moderating effect that rising and falling exchange rates has on trade flows is disrupted, and trade imbalances can become persistent. This Video illustrates how trade flows should lead to appreciation and depreciation of currencies in a floating exchange rate system, and then explain how in the case of China, central bank policy aimed at buying large quantities of US government debt keeps the supply of Chinese currency high in the US and the demand for US dollars high in China. This means the dollar remains stronger than it otherwise might relative to the Chinese RMB, contributing to the persistent trade deficits the US exhibits in its trade with China.

Want to start trading binary options but you're not sure which broker to choose or how to trade binary options? Visit http://www.BinaryOptionsTeacher.com today to learn more! currency forex current foreign exchange rates philippines Binary options tend to be categorised as exotic options, nevertheless binaries can be extremely convenient and figure out functionally. The most frequent binary option is often a "high-low" option. Providing entry to shares, indices, commodities and foreign exchange, a high-low binary options are also known as a fixed-return option. This is because the option has an expiry date/time and in addition what is called a strike price. In case your dealer wagers appropriately relating to the marketplace's trend together with the selling price throughout the time of expiry is on the right side of this strike price, typically the trader will be paid a fixed return no matter how much the instrument moved. An investor who actually bets badly to the market's direction manages to lose their investment. There is an upside to those investing opportunities, however it needs some mindset. A huge bonus is the risk/reward are generally static. It matters not just how much the marketplace moves in favor or opposed to the speculator. There are only 2 good results: earn a constant sum of money or forfeit a fixed sum of money. In addition, there will be ordinarily virtually no extra charges, including commission fees, with one of these investing instruments (brokerages may differ).|There's also an upside to those buying options, but it really requires some prospective. An essential incentive is the risk and reward are actually a given. It matters not exactly how much market trends moves for or against the investor. There are only a couple of good results: obtain a hard dollar amount or burn } a fixed dollar amount. Also, usually there are commonly no extra charges, including commission payments, with these investing tools (broker companies could differ).|}

This isn't without justification as, in recent years, we have seen a number of exchanges get hacked, robbed, or embezzled by their founders, which is far from insignificant. One proposed alternative are decentralized exchanges that would allow people make peer-to-peer trades using sophisticated smart contracts. However, there remains the fundamental challenge of interfacing with the legacy banking system. Manfred Karrer joins us for a lengthy discussion on Bitsquare, a decentralized cryptocyrrency exchange which supports most fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies. Built to be a decentralized equivalent of LocalBitcoins, the Bitsquare client, which connects to the peer-to-peer network, uses Tor by default, which makes it almost completely anonymous. There are also a number of safeguards in place to eliminate the potential for fraud and theft, as well as an arbitration system to resolve disputes between traders. Topics discussed in this episode include: - The motivation behind Bitsquare - The Bitsquare client and user experience - A walkthrough of a typical trade - The mechanics of the order book - The fiat currency transfer mechanism - The current and future arbitration process - Manfred's thoughts on DAOs - Bitsquare's product roadmap Links mentioned in this episode: - Bitsquare Website: http://bitsquare.io - Bitsquare Whitepaper: https://bitsquare.io/bitsquare.pdf - Risk Analysis: http://bitsquare.io/risk_analysis.pdf - Arbitration System: http://bitsquare.io/arbitration_system.pdf - Github Repo: https://github.com/bitsquare/bitsquare Sponsors: - Jaxx: Wallets that Unify the Blockchain Experience Across Devices http://jaxx.io Show notes: http://epicenterbitcoin.com/podcast/140 SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/epicenterbitcoin/eb-140 Epicenter Bitcoin is hosted by Brian Fabian Crain, Sébastien Couture & Meher Roy. - Visit our website: http://epicenterbitcoin.com - Subscribe to our newsletter: http://epicenterbitcoin.com/newsletter - Twitter: http://twitter.com/epicenterbtc

Martin Armstrong: Dow 35,000 By 2021?

01:00:08
Given the current capital flight into the US, it could happen. Full description and comments at: https://www.peakprosperity.com/martin-armstrong-dow-35000-by-2021/ The most hated stock market rally still has room left to become truly despised, according to Martin Armstrong. Armstrong is an economic forecaster, former hedge fund manager, monetary and foreign exchange currency expert and a deep student of history. He has advised central banks, powerful political leaders, and has testified before Congressional committees on economic cycles and monetary and currency issues. At present, he’s extremely concerned about the gross distortions central bank policies have had on the global economy. Excess liquidity has caused asset prices to become recklessly inflated while enabling otherwise-doomed companies to persist by feeding off of the cheap and plentiful capital. But while Armstrong predicts this “one giant mess” “is not going to end nicely”, he warns that things may get a lot more deformed, especially in the US, before the break point is reached. With so much of the rest of the world beginning to succumb to the arriving global recession, capital is fleeing towards the relative safety and positive returns offered by America’s financial markets. As a result, Armstrong sees the US stock market continuing to power higher from here, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average potentially tagging 35,000 by 2021.

This is a story that ends very, very badly. The strength of the dollar is going to cause such chaos in the global monetary system that the safe haven that gold has always provided, I think, is going to become into higher demand. And there will be a point where they rise together. This isn't a Pollyanna view. I'm not saying to go out and buy equities, because things are good. I'm saying, go out and buy equities, because things are bad. Things are really bad. It's just that the road to bad looks much different than what the typical person thinks. I'm really happy to be able to come onto Real Vision today, because I haven't been this excited about markets in a very long time-- not because I think everything is going to be easy, and things are fine, but really, because I think everything is bad, and it's going to be very hard. But I think that it's also going to present a lot of amazing opportunities for those who can kind of see through the fog of what the markets are going to do over the next year to two years. Now, I'm sure over the next 30 or 40 minutes, there's going to be a few of you out there who agree with what I say. But I know for a fact that there's going to be a lot of people who disagree or who maybe agree with part of what I say, but who are going to disagree with a lot of what I say. And there's also going to be some people out there who absolutely disagree with everything I say. And that's fine. What I'm asking you to do now is, at least for now, let's put aside challenging me, and just actually listen to what I say and think about how I might be right. And if it turns out after you've actually thought about it and more than for a minute or two, and you still want to have a conversation to discuss it, I'm more than happy to do that. We've seen a nice bounce in the dollar after losing 10% to 12% on the dollar over the last 12 to 18 months. So I think it's a good time to discuss this. I really think the dollar move higher is really just getting started. Now, that doesn't mean that there's not going to be starts and stops, and in the short term, it's probably due for somewhat of a pause or even a short pullback. But one thing I want to get across to people is this move is only just getting started. The dollar, in my opinion, is going to go much, much higher over the next year to two years. And so as I get into what the actual dollar milkshake theory is, it really comes down to the fact that I think the whole world is really one trade right now. And it's the trade on the dollar. Everything wraps around the dollar. I'm going to talk about gold after a while, but I think even gold-- all roads go through the dollar. So even though I'm very bullish gold long-term, that road also goes through the dollar.

How the rich get richer – money in the world economy | DW Documentary

42:25
Exploding real estate prices, zero interest rate and a rising stock market – the rich are getting richer. What danger lies in wait for average citizens? For years, the world’s central banks have been pursuing a policy of cheap money. The first and foremost is the ECB (European Central Bank), which buys bad stocks and bonds to save banks, tries to fuel economic growth and props up states that are in debt. But what relieves state budgets to the tune of hundreds of billions annoys savers: interest rates are close to zero. The fiscal policies of the central banks are causing an uncontrolled global deluge of money. Experts are warning of new bubbles. In real estate, for example: it’s not just in German cities that prices are shooting up. In London, a one-bed apartment can easily cost more than a million Euro. More and more money is moving away from the real economy and into the speculative field. Highly complex financial bets are taking place in the global casino - gambling without checks and balances. The winners are set from the start: in Germany and around the world, the rich just get richer. Professor Max Otte says: "This flood of money has caused a dangerous redistribution. Those who have, get more." But with low interest rates, any money in savings accounts just melts away. Those with debts can be happy. But big companies that want to swallow up others are also happy: they can borrow cheap money for their acquisitions. Coupled with the liberalization of the financial markets, money deals have become detached from the real economy. But it’s not just the banks that need a constant source of new, cheap money today. So do states. They need it to keep a grip on their mountains of debt. It’s a kind of snowball system. What happens to our money? Is a new crisis looming? The film 'The Money Deluge' casts a new and surprising light on our money in these times of zero interest rates. _______ Exciting, powerful and informative – DW Documentary is always close to current affairs and international events.
