Investing for Beginners

8849 ratings | 298910 views
We don't talk about investing for the first time enough. We take for granted that investing in the stock market has become second nature to us. There is also a lot of bad information out there on YouTube. So, we decided to make a quick overview of the basics of investing. Instead of explaining everything all in one video, we describe how we invest in the stock market and have links below so you can read more about each step: Can Everyone Retire A Millionaire? http://goo.gl/xmJbno The 4% Rule - http://goo.gl/4kW3zS Pay Yourself First - http://goo.gl/Q5AyrD Automate Your Finances - http://goo.gl/unc3Zc Why We Chose IRA - http://goo.gl/JF27H3 IRA vs. Roth IRA vs. 401k - http://goo.gl/qD5yBh Why Vanguard - http://goo.gl/ZoSp6a Why Index Funds - http://goo.gl/GO1Sy6 Why Index Funds, Again - http://goo.gl/kj0i3E The Stock Market Always Goes Up - http://goo.gl/1TJWtP Sign up for monthly income, expenses, and net worth reports! http://newsletter.mikeandlauren.com Check out our blog: http://www.mikeandlauren.com Follow us: http://twitter.com/mikeandlauren

But there's a $10,000 minimum to invest in VTSAX. Sigh...
Al Rocky (1 month ago)
Could alternatively purchase VTSMX which only has a $3,000 minimum initial purchase and once the balance reaches $10,000 VTSMX becomes VTSAX. Or you can purchase the ETF version which is VTI which has the low expense ratio of 0.04% and only cost about $150 a share.

I started investing with $2,000 (all I had at the time). That $2,000 is currently at $7,800 and still growing, Moral of the story is there is no minimum amount needed to get started. Do your research, invest only what you're willing to lose, and if you do it right, you might be the next success story!

Trading Crypto currency is extremely profitable when using the right techniques and strategies and also frustrating for those without better system to trade and signal provided. If you need a beneficiary trade and you are loosing out all your investment instead of profiting, there is still a big hope for you to recover all your lost founds. [Some traders will tell you that either you lose or gain] In Mr. March's case loosing is failure it's not an option........ you can contactfor a 100% strategy to make good profit

I feel good writing about my story about binary option trade .Ever since I started trading binary I never made a difference until i came in contact with Mr Samson March , I'll keep on thanking him for all he has done for me .i advice you to contact him if you are having any problem on binary option trade .

Thats dumb. You should invest in individual stocks. If you know what you’re doing then that’s how you minimalise risk

Due to the fact that ICO functions more like a "yes or no" kind of trade mechanism, there is a tendency among inexperienced traders to trade it like a poker game or like they would do in the slot machines of Vegas. I am using *FIRST MILLION ROAD* since 3 weeks and i am getting good profit.

The 59 1/2 yr old thing for "Retirement" is wring because it's vague in the explanation it does not go into detail about social security or a person's actual retirement from let's say State service or city or government employment or long-term with a company it is misleading I retired at 55 you need to explain about the penalties for early withdrawal on an IRA and well that has to do with the IRS

By looking at some trends I can't help but think the market is going to take a fall at some point soon. Is it smart to wait until after that happens again? Or do you suggest I just get started now? I am about to graduate college and do not have a whole lot to invest. Thanks for the video.

One of the big reasons why the age of 59 was chosen was because of a man called Doctor William Osler. He gave a speech in titled “The Fixed Period” in February 22, 1905 that talked about dying at age 60. His lecture is still used today for arguments for retirement. We could talk about how different working groups lol teachers, mill workers and others said they would like to retire but that is for another time.

I've been investing for about about a year now and it's been really good for me, I've learned a ton and I've began to make a decent amount of money. I've turned $300 into $1500. That might not seem great but once you build up more money you can make bigger investments and get bigger returns. I use an app called robinhood and right now they are doing a promotion where anyone I invite and myself can get a free stock (value between $2-$500) if they join. Help yourself and I out please! Join Robinhood and make sure you use my link. http://share.robinhood.com/ericc451

At the Vanguard site look for Personal Investors and click that to get to "Non-US Investors" or you may see "Non-US Investors" straight away. Look to see if your country is on their list. Otherwise look for the "Contact Us" link and give them a call.

I am not an expert by an stretch, but I know a little bit, and this might be the most reasonable piece of advice I have ever seen on the internet. It is truly a joy that these folks exist. I mean, they are just saying 100% reasonable, well researched stuff, on a topic that people usually say dumb stuff about. If you have a financial advisor, and they aren't saying THESE EXACT SAME THINGS, you need to ask them if they are a "fiduciary", and drop them like a bad habit if they are not.

UK is still governed by the east India trading company which means it does not play by the rules. Just look at the past and see how it did not play fair. The whole kingdom is collapsing because of this. It is not wise investing in the UK specially as the Brexit is about to kick in. property will devalue and the debt will only get bigger. eventually collapsing and taking all investments with it. Don't invest in the UK it is not just risky it is dangerous. You will lose ur money. Beware

mutual funds and index funds, hardly volatile stocks, not going to make you money, you need to invest in individual companies with high potential for long term positive increase or short term decrease as you can make money either way

Love your advice, spot on, especially your advice about adding bond index funds. I believe it's important to add bonds as an insurance hedge for when the market corrects. If you have some bonds, you can reallocate from bonds to stocks once the market has corrected.

Roger Priest (1 year ago)
I'm confused why you prefer traditional IRAs to Roth IRAs. In reading the link it states a traditional IRA is preferrable if you reinvest the tax savings, but if you are effectively capped at $5,500, where do you invest the tax savings? In a different investment vehicle?
Al Rocky (1 year ago)
It seems the so-called "tax savings" was regarding maxing out ($5,500) a Roth IRA and comparing it to maxing ($5,500) out a traditional IRA. To contribute to a Roth IRA (assuming 25% tax bracket) you need $7,333 of income. So $5,500 in a Roth IRA is similar to $7,333 in a traditional IRA. But you can't invest $7,333 in an IRA in any one year so the extra $1,833 has to be invested elsewhere. Either taxable account or a 401(k). I didn't read where a t-IRA was preferable to a Roth IRA.
